99+ Parts Fishe

Hey guys and gals! I need to know if any of you have access to a 99+ parts fishe (like our 93-95 parts fishe). And also, is it in English?

Thanks

Dom, I tried suggesting that not too long ago on the forum, that we should get one and make it a forum resource. Cuz w/ a part number, I can get ahold of pretty much ANY part (I have contacts overseas who can buy and ship it over).

Hmmm... well how did we (93-95) aquire a parts fishe? Couldn't the same method be used to obtain one for the 96+ models?

That stuff is available here in the US. The '96 and up isn't.

GOTBANNED?, g'luck getting it. I've talked to Ray Crowe in person, and he simply can't get it. It's not here. He doesn't even know where to BEGIN looking. Computers can't even recognize the part numbers, even if you had them.

What I'm suggessting is, maybe the forum can pitch in, and we can get a parts fishe on CD. I'm sure someone in Japan can get ahold of one (I'll ask and see if my guy can). We'd use it as a resource, to look up parts numbers etc. You wouldn't order the parts from here, because we don't have a Mazda Japan rep in the US (for parts). This isn't Nismo I'd like to have it done something like this: the fishe is available to everyone, and as long as my guy is down, I can just take orders, find a dealer over there that will give us 20% on all parts (in exchange for volume sales), and we'll have our own direct Mazda Japan connection

Re: the FSM, I'm pretty sure I can come up w/ that too. It'll prob be in Japanese tho

The manuals will be in Japanese. The only English manuals I know of are versions I-II (JDM late 91-early 95), and there's an outside chance of a version III manual (JDM mid-late 95, Australia 95-98).

I've played with the JDM parts database - it's a bit clunky (even the Japanese seem to hate it), but obviously a great resource.

It's probably a better idea just to collate the key part #'s (ie: the ones that are consistantly sought after). I have quite a few lying about.

As for getting a 20% discount - good luck! The japanese DO NOT, in my experience, deal that way.

it's online - http://13b.power.ne.jp/main_contents/index.html click on the tech section, then the version V link (the one with the green book).

DaiOni, thanks for the link. I've seen that site before. Definitely helpful, but it seems to be an abridged version. There's a lot of stuff I can't find...

yeah, it's a highlights package. I was flicking through the actual book yesterday - the guy said 'do you want to copy some of those pages?' I was thinking, 'can I just have the book?', lol. Actually, I was looking at it side-by-side with the early version (up to 94), and there were some interesting little differences between the first and last version part numbers (all over the place - probably indicating lots of little changes that we have no idea about).

Here is a pic of my 12/98 my 99 for the Yanks ! Genuine Mazda RX7 parts book

As the cover says it covers FD3S-500001 on wards.

Maz Australia no longer distributes parts fiche because it has EPC ( Electonic Parts Cataloge)which I may add is brilliant. The book I have was a special order from Japan which is now no longer available. It was not cheap at the time setting me back around $500.00 AUS

Newb - yeah, sort of - though parts are a universal language. Interestingly, I think the early series book quoted US numbers also. I'll have to double check - as this will help me out a lot (people always quote the US #'s when they want stuff - which always ends up being detective work for me). At my last local dealership I did all the searching on the EPC - but, to be honest, I found the book to be quicker!

Is that a complete version, or abridged? And you say it covers from '98 onward? So it's basically a 99 - 2002 parts diagram?

Also, will you be replying to my PM?

DaiOni, yea I'm trying to simplify the process. We're trying to get a copy of the FULL parts diagram, and make it readily available for us in the US, so we can browse and have the correct part number.

Yes, the parts are a universal language, but you know what makes it pretty hard about it being in Japanese? The table of contents as well as the section names etc are all in Japanese. So if you're unfamiliar w/ the layout of the book (which all of us are), you'll spend quite a bit of time looking through the various sections (which you don't know what section is what), looking for your part.

ahh, yeah, I've been here too long - I forget that katakana isn't english, lol

it takes a couple of days to learn katakana (the set of characters used for foreign words, in case you didn't know) - and it becomes very very readible after that (for the most part, ie: diff = diffu). Most of it's in katakana.

I have sent you a Pm and no im not interested in photocopying 350 pages !

The cataloge is quite easy to use, you simply find the part you are after in the diagrams provided you look at the D code next to the part then you find the D code on the next page which is in numerical order.

its as simple as that.

regards Daz

Dazda, my apologies, but I definitely didn't get a PM from you.

As I mentioned to DaiOni, without knowing the breakdown of the sections, it'll take quite a while to figure out what is where.

Re: photocopying, I wasn't asking you per say to do it. If you wouldn't mind, you could drop it off at a photocopying shop. Within hours, they'll have it done. I offered to pay for it in full. I'll even compensate you for your time. You'd be doing a HUGE service to the forum if you could help me out here. If the manual's in English, and it's a complete/full version, I'll pay for your gas going, gas coming, lunch if necessary, and anything the photoshop charges you, plus a small fee for your time & effort if necessary. So yes, I value and respect your time & effort... Just asking you to help out the forum (not me per say), and you'll be fully compensated.

Thanks
