I know I would have to retune & I do have stainless filters but i'm reading guys putting 2200cc for primarys. I was thinking that with 1600cc all around would be enough. so I should be ok if I swap out my 750s for 1600s. what about fuel pressure do I have to play with that? or does that stay at 40

You should consider changing all four. 1000cc primary and 2200cc secondary. I used 1600 primaries on my car (with e-85) and the injector time was always in the crappy flow range of the injector. The idle quality was never that good, and was always too rich.

i'm running:
*efini twins modified vacuum system syncro intact
*straight pipes to catback
*power FC with commander and datalogit
*apexi intake
*no smog (no emissions, go global warming lies!)
*FMIC Greddy 34 row (I know, I know, stupid mistake with efini/stock twins )
*street ported w/3mm
*1600 secondaries and 850cc primaries
*Denso FP
I'm getting 387 HP to the wheels on premium gas at 14 lbs max boost, tuned via mazdatrix in LA
...and my question is this...
*IF* I HAVE IT RE-TUNED with e85 (easy to get in Vegas) THEN:
1) How much LESS POWER will I get assuming my injectors are big enough?
2) With efini twins obviously my injectors are FINE for pump-gas but how much more injector volume on e85?
I always loved rx7.com's calculator but from what I see I'm not getting a compensation for e85
I KNOW e85 setup is ideal for T78/88 700HP crap, but I CAN'T HANDLE THE LAG!
So, here's what I'm thinking, tell me what you think -

CRAP, sorry, accidentally entered that.... continuing now...

so... you have ever slightly more energy per air fuel charge, plus a higher octane rating giving room for more boost.....

you quoted MORE BTU's for gas than e85.... thus, gas is MORE powerful per volume, no?
yeah, the higher octane is awesome, but i'm running efini twins so my boost won't do better than 1 bar. that's why i'm mentioning the nitrous - to make the charge more dense thus compensating for the difference. if i'm reading you right 81800/114100(*100)(-100) is 28.3% LESS powerful for e85 thus you need 28.3% MORE fuel if using e85 to compensate.
with my setup 1600ccx2 and 850ccx2 my potential at 85% duty is 628HP... since i'm running now close to 400 i guess nitrous would easily allow for more with my current rail.
let's see.... 1600x2 plus 850x2 = 4900cc for 628HP @ 85% duty
so 4,900cc - 28% = (1,372cc subtracted for e85) 3,528cc
and according to rx7.com 3.528ccs will give me 452HP
since I'll be getting 28% less with e85 from 380HP I'll be getting about 280HP
A 100 shot will put me back to 380HP and 75 shot 355HP - all which are much less than the potential 452 which my injectors can safely cover.
anywho, that's my math.... wonder what i'm doing wrong. maybe e85 should really be reserved for people trying to hit high boost and really won't protect and engine any more than premium under 1bar of boost.
yeah, i'm probably wasting time with e85 if i don't try and hit big boost numbers - and i won't do that 'cause lag drives me CRAZY... i want boost at 800rpm
look at me, i sound like one of those guys who goes lsx ... which i'd do if i could easily swap back my 13bREW back in with little work. so, since that's not gonna happen, if my logic is correct, i'll just stay premium gas, efini turbos, power fc, down, mid, catback, apex'i intakes, mix gas 1/2 oz/gal, fmic (stupid, i know), oil injectors on full, 3mm w/street port and call that quits.
i'll save the e85 dreams for if i ever go T78 or T88 - then i'll stick my 1300cc's on the primaries and look into another diff & stronger tranny options
who am i kidding, i'll never do that. i hate drag racing...

Yes gas has more power per volume.
BUT you run more fuel as well, The amount of additional fuel gives you slightly more power than gas.
Nitromethane is even lower per volume at 47595 BTU/gal. but the power potential is HUGE due to the 1.7:1 AFR.
lets switch over to lbs here

Gas with an 12.8:1 AFR at ~18,500 BTU/lb. = ~72,300 BTU
E85 with an 7.8:1 AFR at ~12,800 BTU/lb. = ~82,000 BTU
Nitrometh with an 1.7:1 AFR at ~5,000 BTU/lb. = ~147,000 BTU
All alcohol at proper AFR gives more energy than gas, For E85 this is not enough to claim a gain due to it and most power gain given nothing changed but fuel and tune is from drop in intake air temp. It still will not make you lose power unless you run out of injector but then the power is not lost... just not realized.
Don't take this math for more than I'm intending it for, just showing that the amount of energy from fuel on a running engine will not lower power output... thats it and thats all, the numbers change to much to say "well it has X% more power i will make X% more" I'm just clarifying before i start catching crap and start a pointless argument..... again
