Plateless '99 front bumper?

Curious if you guys were thinking of making one of these that were flexible and NOT out of fiberglass.

Their products are FPR = Fiber Reinforced Plastic which is fiberglass. Some manufacturers have flexible fiberglass but if your looking for something that is not fiberglass the only thing available is the urethane Rotary Extreme bumper which is still being sold through JF Racing. I have that bumper and it has issues with waviness. I doubt anyone will ever come out with another urethane plateless as it costs much more for the mold and costs alot for machines to mold the bumper. Fiberglass which is what I'm trying to get someone to make is the next best option especially with the flexible plastic 99 lip that goes on the bumper. I really don't believe a urethane bumper is necessary. I just want a 99 spec plateless bumper that does not have the waviness and fitment issues the RE bumper has.

Would you guys be interested in doing a bumper if there was enough interest or is a bumper out of the question for you?

Petit Racing (www.pettitracing.com) sells a fiberglass version that is very high quality. I have it on my car:

Outside of the time I rammed my garage wall with it I haven't had any issues with cracking.

I agree that fiberglass is not the way to go. Very unforgiving on most mistakes. Been there, done that on my other car.

fitment issues

I dont understand all the fuss about the fibreglass bumpers, if you guys arent drifters how the hell are the bumpers touching anything. Is the biggest concern cracking during install or what. Im confused.

im with you man! i dont see the problem. its deffinetly better to have it flex rather then not flex but just dont hit and curbs and you will be fine..

How about the concern of hitting something on the road that you simply can NOT avoid? (perhaps traffic keeps you from swerving or something?) Lots of reasons to want a bumper than can flex a bit without cracking.

99 plateless

What in the hell are you hitting on the road that you cant avoid ! Yeah, i suppose if an 10 inch thick logs rolls in front of the car from out of nowhere you are gonna be in trouble, but in all seriousness if you are hitting things at speed its gonna cause damage no matter what. Dont get me wrong I would rather have a urethane bumper if I had to chose between the 2 but that isnt the case here.
