I just got a Pettit Duct for my Greddy SMIC
I bought it for $125.00 brand new, and honestly it is garbage.
The fitment sucks.
and the finish is worse than any ebay part I have ever seen.
Garbage, just garbage.
I looked for one for sale and have seen them sell for more than 125.00 used.
There is a large need.
I'd love to see one made in "plain weave carbon fiber"
I'll even send you my ducting to base a replica off of.
I have seen the quality of your work, and I'd like to have a little bit of it under the hood.
let me know what you think...

I 100% agree with this guy! there is a KILLER shortage of SMIC ducting available in ANY condition, and as soon as it hits the forum its snatched up. I would pay full price for a quality piece that would work with a SMIC, and i know for a fact others on this forum wabt them, if we can gauge any interest i am mosy definately down for this.

BUMP!
Here is another suggestion...
Since a person could already get the Fiberglass duct from pettit racing.
Can I trim, drill and fit my Pettit Duct, and simply just send it to you to be wrapped in plain carbon weave?
This would not impede on any copyright, trademark or patten infringement laws since you are simply just adding an aethstetic layer of carbon fiber over an authentic pettit duct.
You would not be marketing a Pettit duct replica (removing you from "harm's way" legally.)
I understand making replicas of JDM accessories, due to the fact that its too much hassel to persue each company that does it "Internationally"
It just feel like you have not been replying to this thread at all for this reason.
Please let me/ us all know what you think about this idea.
+ this would allow everyone to test fit their duct before, so fiment is never your problem...

Yeah, its supposed to fit "perfectly" as Jeff from Pettit said, and as many people on the forum say as well.
I sence you are trying to question my intelligence...

I see nothing wrong with you taking the Pettit duct and then having it covered. It's yours, do whatever you want with it.
If you make a mold and then try to sell them, that's another thing.
