i think you might need an adapter cable
But yes, Mark will help you out within 24 hours or so

Still can't believe they haven't put up a read-only archive of their old forum, at least

This has become my **** off about purchasing a adaptronic m1200 ecu for my s4 TII. As an electrician I prefer to have a hard copy of a manual to read through and learn the functions and capabilities of a product. Yes the YouTube tutorials are nice, but not as the only source of information. So many of my simple questions I've had to ask their Facebook page could be answered with just a manual, however they have always been quick to answer back. Even a pdf of a manual for it would be fantastic.

The first place I look when I have a tuning issue is the Haltech Elite (480+ page) hardware/software manual where I can pinpoint what the ECU is doing and how a function is implemented. It really is useful, and adds credibility to the fact that it works, detailing HOW it works. For instance, a friend of mine was messaging me last week about some of his transient throttle settings and how to go about setting up the tables to correct his error at variable rpms. I literally pull up elite manual, hit CTRL+F, search for enrich rate highlight this and send over the picture, which was all he needed. Defined documentation on what and how each function affects the ECU's output.

This **** isn't rocket science, but if you have no definition on what the mystery box is actually doing, everything you do is guesswork. In the real working world, traceability means something. Nothing flies, drives or runs from an OEM without traceability to function and reason.

Common sense here boys

I'm being told by Mark at Adaptronic that the forum will be making a come back, likely in July.
It was low-priority with the server/site change, but it is coming

That's great news, if it turns out to be true.

That's funny. I heard Eugene was going to be released for a year and that it was coming...then when it finally did it was a beta, and another 2 years after actual release it still doesn't fully function correctly.

Don't get me wrong...Mark is a great guy. 100% legit.

I just think he's probably getting fed optimism. I hope it comes back, but I'm doubtful from what I've seen of them.

Yeah, really frustrating, I was looking for the S4 CAS wiring info and even one of the threads here was linking to a dead Adaptronic forum post.

haha this really does suck. Meanwhile the hardware itself is still experiencing triggering issues in the field on customer cars that adaptronic is well aware of and done nothing about.

so while we wait for haltech to fix the problem, write a manual and develop a forum those running this ecu are at risk of engine failure should they be able to actually figure out how to make it work without a manual.

Apparently the modular trigger errors can be caused by use of the internal data logger and turning off the internal data logger stops the trigger errors occuring at 5000-6000 rpms! Not sure why those things are tied together, but given my friend had to figure this out on his own as the tie wasnt known but the manufactuer or salesmen its clear those who should have written a manual dont know how it works either!

And here I am getting banned for making a joke about the ecu not working right. But I think that is really application specific. I think it would make a great boat anchor.

I suspect Adaptronic owners are fucked as the series is phased out

Ya i really hate Adaptronic for taking the forums down. There was a lot of really good info there on the older ECU's like mine. Thinking of getting something different now. As i still have issues with my ecu and it's just a pain in the *** right now. But prob gonna have to save up and get a new ECU + harness that ain't cheap either.... the map sensor in the ECU is dead (bought a 3bar map sensor), car stalls when coming to a stop, at random times the idle kicks up to 100% (been in contact with them about this multiple times and it still hasn't been fixed), I get a hiccup while cruising goes super rich 9-10 afr then back down (whole car jolts). just trucking sucks to me right now....

Create a thread and include your ecu file. I'm sure someone on here can help you calibrate the engine better.

I'll do that when I get her running again. Had the Ignition Switch blow on me yesterday. Should have the new one tomorrow or friday. So prob this weekend i'll make a thread. But i believe part of my issue is the car even when it's hot outside sits between 172-174f while cruising. It doesn't get any hotter unless i'm in stop and go traffic. But i'll say 75% of the time it stays at 172-174f. I think with the big koyo n-flow rad is my issue. it cools way too good i think. Yes i have dual oil coolers but they are the small stock ones. But who the hell knows.

That's pretty much what I take from it. Anyone who buys in now is asking for it...

Haltech recently released new versions of the patch harnesses that make their universal elite ecus plug and play to the rx7 factory harness so its very do-able without a fully custom harness. Hell I ran my FD on an elite 2500 through a haltech patch harness from an old haltech E11 ecu and it worked perfectly fine.

I hear you man...

In the meantime while you're fixing that ignition switch I'd be glad to take a look at the file you have now and see if we can't sort you something you can live with for a while. If you want, email me the latest file and any logs you have from it with a list of engine/fuel/ignition specs at sethallen.cca@gmail.com

So I was casually rambling about the engine management forums and came across another thread where questions were being asked about the status of the manual. Given the 'tronic reps are active on this forum, have been on this thread, and refuse to address it here when directly posed the question I let freedom ring.

I was met with the typical highly intelligent response and provided a link to the new 'tronic modular manual! BEHOLD: 'TRONIC MODULAR MANUAL LINK

How excessively useful and complete. May it solve all your ecu and tuning questions.

I like how you leave out the fact that it is still being worked on.

Oh man, that's rich right there.

Kinda like how you've been leaving out the fact its still being worked on every time you've sold one across the past 2 years?
