Hi Caine,

I haven't used a waste gate like that one before (i.e. 4-port), so I had to consult with Andy and he said: yes a MAC valve can be used to switch the ports in and out, but our recommendation would be to drive it like a traditional single or dual port waste gate. If you want more control than that can provide then you can run an external switch with a MAC valve to switch the second port or both ports on at once, and that will rescale all the boost that’s been set in the ECU.

But just one word of warning, we don’t know if MAC valves are rated for continuous operation. e.g. we once had a MAC valve hooked up in a car using the incorrect ports, and we inverted the output so it was “on” all the time but off when it needed to reduce the boost, and it eventually burnt out after a couple of years.

Thanks.
