They DID/DO have very specific instruction sets that allow them to do things quickly. All this said what I'm saying is that bandwidth isn't the issue.

I use on board logging all the time on Elites and have never had this issue. If you're using an outdated version of the log viewer software, it will error out when trying to load a log made with a later version of firmware. This sounds like user error to me.
