Eugene Software with Select ECU
Has anyone used the new Eugene Software with any of the select or non modular ECUs? From my understanding of it from the Adaptronic website, it looks like this should work. My main goal is using this for the better Gauges interface.
Hot Key's may not be functioning yet. But we will ask to clarify.
I've had this same issue. I'm also having problems with the gauges also, they will freeze or eugene freezes after a few minutes of running with live gauges on.
is it possible to downgrade back to WARI?

It doesn't matter what software you use. WARI and Eugene are just front ends for the communication to the ECU. From what I can see, the functionality is the same, Eugene just has a different layout, and some things are prettier, but they do the same job. You just download WARI from the website and run it instead of Eugene.

Second question: What OS is supported for the front loading software (WARI / SEKUKU / EUGENE)
My goal is just to use this to have a better gauge view, and I would like to migrate from my laptop to a tablet. Are we still limited to Win 7, 8, 10?

EDIT - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It seems that we can use anything above Win7. Not sure on the Windows CE (mobile windows) OS's. There are some interesting companies making "Windows CE" Headunits, that could make an attractive gauge platform for viewing the F2 window of EUGENE

FYI you guys can revert to WARI after using eugene software on a select model. Tune will not change. I have personally tested it.

Awesome. I have been using Eugene on my select and like it alot, although I am not a power user and probably would miss any glitches that arent in WARI.
When using Eugene on Select ECUs does one need to update the firmware? Assuming no, but example would be, using latest Eugune, would we need to update firmware on select with Modular_0.129.adf
i.e. with Wari, Select ECU with v13 required flashing/updating firmware to use v14 Wari or received a message.
If no, then for Select ECUs will there be any future development/firmware updates or will these ECUs no longer be supported. Is v15 the last firmware/update selects will receive? Will Wari receive any updates?
Can Select ECUs firmware be "downgraded" i.e. v15 to v14.

i just got my t2 running with an e420d and eugene. so far the only thing that hasn't worked is the tab with the wire colors and ecu pinout info. i am just getting started with though fwiw.
I've used it with the latest update from the adaptronic forum. Works fine and the gauge page is very customizable. I do however find that when switching from eugene to wari everynow and then, a couple random blocks in my fuel/ignition map get set to zero. Not sure why, I use wari when tuning because it is easier for me until I find out how eugene changes values with a button instead of typing the number in the value.
FWIW, My tuner was using WARI and we got my car to start and idle decently so we stopped for the day. There were some minor things to fix so while he was gone I installed Eugene on my computer and had no problem connecting. I made the output changes to get the fuel pump to turn on and fan to work correctly and followed instructions to configure the tachometer. I started it up and it ran for a bit, then stalled. Hasn't started since. We're not sure what happened. Still scratching my head as to whether it's a loose wire, screwed up tune, or what.

Anyway, I found my way here wondering if I needed to upgrade the firmware on my 440d to get it to work with Eugene. It sounds like no, but if I run out of things to check I'm going to try it. I'm still new to all this tuning stuff but I've been working with computers my whole life. Upgrading a BIOS is usually a last ditch hold your breath effort with PCs and I'm imagining the firmware update is roughly the same experience.

Yes I did. The "safe" tune we had fouled the plugs. In the search, we found a few other minor issues like swapped leading and trailing connectors...but there were no issues with the Adaptronic, the firmware, or using Eugene. I have both installed now and I'm still not sure which I like better. I feel like Eugene shows me options that aren't available on my ECU and it gets a little confusing...but it's certainly a better interface to work with. I'm currently having trouble getting the quick learning mode to work above 0% TPS, but I'm sure it's just a matter of getting the settings right.
