Those would be the best LED out there. They are basically mounted to a circuit board and can be crazy bright. Good choice Tom.

This may be a stupid question but if one of those led's was to burn out, could it be easily replaced?

shouldn't be too hard with basic soldering skills.

Man, those turned out great! I love how when the lights are off, it still looks very factory/stock. Again, very nice work!

I just found it amusing that the add on the bottom of page 5 as I'm reading this thread was for superbrightleds.com, made me chuckle, now back to reading.

edit: finished reading, looks awesome. There's some great new projects getting finished up. If you decide to make a group buy for these I would be in for sure. Maybe you can package them with David's sleepy eye headlight shrouds...

sexy time!

in case you didnt make it to dgrr this weekend...

...here's teh tails looking mad sexy on goodfella's car.

too bad he apon'd out his tranny. we just spent the day limping it home from NC. no 3rd gear at all, and the rest of the gears sound like a bomb went off inside the gearbox.

regarding the tail lights: the look great, and work great, but i'm not 100% happy with the results...yet. i have a couple of ideas to improve the current design.

first, i'm going to make it so that the outer ring gets brighter w/ the brakes. additionally, i'm going to change the internal mounting assembly design. i'm also going to fix a slight dark-spot on the turn signals and use a slightly different configuration for the signal led mounting.

i'll share the updates after i get them done. we're all crashing at scrub's house tonight and tomorrow we're gonna gimp goodfella's fd back to IRP, drop the tranny, and bolt up a series-8 he has lying around.

Awesome progress! I may have missed it, but will the rings fit inside a 99+ housing since they are embossed a bit?
