I need a set of these! May have to buy a second set of tails though....As I drive my FD a fair bit.

Or is it possible to make kits for self fitting?

wow, that looks awesome!! so unique!!
So...let me try and get this straight...

Brake Lights: the outer ring comes on when you have the e-brake pulled. The outer + inner both comes on when you're on the brake pedal.

Turn Signals: The outer ring comes on when you're turning. The outer + inner comes on when you have the hazard light on??

Are there any videos from DGRR with those lights? It'll be cool to see! Great job though!

Outer ring = Driving/running/side lights
Centre circle = Brake lights
Amber outer ring = indicator/signal lights

no, i'm sorry but when i do the group buy this is gonna have to be a send-in conversion service only. otherwise i wouldn't be able to warranty anything. also, the turn around time will be very fast because i am going to pre-assemble all of the internal LED ring units - installing them will be almost the same process as the normal '99-spec conversion except i will mount the units behind the lenses and slightly modify the rear housing so they fit.

as another option, i know some people are planning on buying a second set of USDM lights since you can find them on ebay or in the classifieds section for pretty cheap.

yes that is correct except in the final version the outer brake ring also gets BRIGHTER when you step on the brakes.

just a reminder (to keep this thread legal): i am not taking orders, i am not taking pre-orders, and i am not selling anything yet! nothing will be sold until the official group buy.

Well when you do go through with it I'm definitely down for a set. I'm too busy for tails since I'm doing a custom bi-xenon headlight setup.

I guessed as much, fair enough - Last I looked a set of early lights we're ~£60, which isn't too bad I guess.

Just to confirm, your hardware fits behind genuine '96 lights? (Not sure if there is any size difference internally).

Cheers

Tom.

will you do the 99 spec conversion as well or is that something that you would expect us to have done prior to shipping you our taillights?

Thinking I'm gonna pull my taillights this weekend since my car is down at the moment anyways.

the conversion will include the '99-spec conversion if the lights are unmodified USDM lights (non-circle) - truthfully, i would prefer to get unmodified lights because often times people that do conversions do not do the correct size and placements of the circles.

i know some people are planning on buying an extra set of unmodified lights to send since you can pick them up on ebay / in the classifieds fairly cheap.

theorie you've done a good job with the lights!!! So much so that I've actually registered on the forums instead of just lurking.... need to know if I'll be able to get mine converted also. :o)

I'm from New Zealand... hopefully that doesn't disqualify me? :|
