GSB,
You stole my idea!!
I can't wait to get my next FD....it'll be matte black similar to that. Now all you need to do is tint your windows.

haha, I bet that UIM would produce some mighty fine brauts

I'm designing the V-mount that Ramy will sell, so chances are I'll be using one of the cores from that kit.
I suspected that you were the brain behind that operation, and I'm glad that that's the case because I think you are the perfect man for the job.

I will not be re-using the end tanks, most likely I'll sell that V-mount and radiator eventually.

that outa sell in about 3 seconds flat! V-mounts are hot commodities these days it seems.

Hi Scrub,

Yea the rear and side windows will be tinted soonish, i had the idea to try the satin finish a while back but never got round to it on my last FD so on this one we went ahead with it !!!

I think its come out really well and the decals in gloss black are only really visable when its parked

I take it you didnt like it when it was done in that red with pearl cast? Or did ross spray it this colour before you bought it?

Looks nice though!

I'm not too sure on which manufacturer they are from, however a friend has told me Bomex? The mirrors are fine for viewing, obviously a bit smaller then the standard, but not bad at all. Thankfully they are electric.

Sorry for a dumb question but what's the purpose of raising the hood at the hinges?
As other posts, apparently to let the heat escape from the engine... weather it works or not I don't know, however the other day I was stuck in traffic for a long time and I could see lots of heat vapour coming from where the bonnet was raised so obviously the heat was escaping? TBH the main reason I did it was because I like the look of it

Car was red when it arrived but i'm not a fan of red at all so we went through a few colour ideas but satin black with gloss black decals is very different and has not been done in the UK yet so thought we would try that

Looks very cool in the flesh and now the decals are on its very eye catching, hopefully if you guys are coming to Billing or Santa Pod you can see what i mean

Always an interesting point this because while you are in slow moving traffic or stood still yes it will help with heat ventilation but on the move the heat cant escape as cold air is flowing over the top of the vented area ??

Does look a cool mod though seen a few now and people who dont realise its a mod think the bonnets open

Off-topic, but no it does not work at all. It's been tested. Even worse, it may actually be detrimental to managing airflow on the car.

yeah I think its only really usefull in getting rid of heat when in traffic, there is definately more ventilation.... as for the bonnet open.. lol... I've been told this by a few people since I did the mod

njstreetrx7: Sweet! The new wheels look great, whatever they are. I love the HID in the '99 turn signals and the spoiler looks really good too.
