your thoughts on r1????
i possibly might get this car, yet i still dont know what to offer him,
its a 1993 r1, blown engine, interior is nice, exterior is good (minor ding below mirror), and the chassis has 89,000 miles on it. throw up your thoughts i should offer him, i was thinking 8k ????

Obviously the lower the better for you but I would not pay more than $9K.
Figure out the minimum for a remanufactured engine plus labor $2.5K to $3.5K
The R1 is very becoming more rare every day, so factor that in.
I paid $14K for my R1 in great conditions, runing engine with 61K, new tires and battery and that was 1999.
So factor in a few more years of depreciation, no runing engine, add to that the car is rare and the popularity of the Fast & Furious.

Tell him to read and post here and see what offers he get.

Ask him if he were to fix the engine to stock spec what would he sell the car for then????
