I think it's ported and had a clogged oil injector.

Seriously, what kind of comments are you looking for?

My bad. I should have given more info. This rebuild has 3000 miles on it and burned oil like a SOB. Actually put a quart in it every 50 to 100 miles. It smoked to high heaven when first started and once up to operating temperature the burning oil wasn't so visible, but if you let it idle for a while, it would start smoking again.

I am no rebuild expert but looks like there is a lot of oil coming through the front rotor housing. Oil control rings on the rotors maybe?

That is what I was told, I just wanted a second opinion. Does the rear rotor housing look normal?

I was wondering if the rear housing looked normal. I know the front isn't, but I wanted a second opinion. This engine have given me alot of grief and I want to fix it ASAP.

Why do you ask?

I would rather not say since I want to give them a chance to fix it and I would like to stay on good terms with them (unless they do this again). Many people will be very surprised to find out who built it. This engine has been smoking like chimney since day 1. Do we have a rotary engine builders forum I can link this post to?

I have been building rotaries for over 20 years.
The oil in the housing is not normal, neither is using 1 qt ever 50-100 miles. The problem could be a pinched oil ring seal (rotor) but the engine would have smoked from day one. It could also be a bad thermal pellit reinstalled. Either way the problem seems to be internal and the engine needs to be disassembled and repaired.I just noticed it smoked from day one...it's an oil "o"-ring that was pinched/torn on the rear rotor when the engine was assembled. ..
pm me if you would.
