your FD

has anyone cried when they got their FD. I'm 18 and just purchased my FD and I cried like a little kid I love my RX-7's any year. Im getting a rotor tattoed on my back as my sign for loyalty for my 7's.

I didn't cry but a smile was stuck on my face for the next 24 hours and I recently slept in my FD to get better "aquainted". and I still always smile as I drive. This car makes me feel that some inanimate objects are actually... alive. haha

I didn't cry but I felt extremely happy the day (feeling never felt before!) I brought her home. I purchased through private sale so I had used my camera to record a clip of both me and seller driving to the bank for finalizing paperwork and the check. Traffic was very hectic so I was already afraid of any mishaps on the drive there! As we're pulling in...a stupid carless biker not watching almost rammed into my "30 minutes later" FD! OOOOHHH I would've been pist!

When I got my FD, the owner's father drove me to the parking lot where the car was. I warned him that I might jump out of his car and hug my FD. I didn't, nor did I cry. But do still get the urge to hug her.

18... You are a little kid. J/K One thing though, You might want to wait till you blow 2 or 3 motors before you get a rotor tattoo. That way you will get the full RX-7 experience.

I would have to say that the day I got my FD I will never forget. It was in 1996, My aunt decided to sell me her 93 silver base, I was 18 at the time. She sold it to me for $15,000 and it only had 2,200 miles on it. I know, I was a lucky basterd! The day That I picked up the car ranks right up there with the day I got married and the day my child was born, as far as memmorys go. It was a feeling I would never forget. the car was in storage for a bit, Wich she told me to swerve back and forth for a bit to remove any flat spots that were on the tires. Kinda like F1. I did so and it was fun. I was following them back to the house from the storage unit, when I got to feel what the car could do. Quite a few miles of wisconsin backrounds later, I was in love. I would slow down and then catch up to them often. Even once I got back after drivng the car all day. I drove the car around till late that night. When I got home I don't think I slept very much either. LOL

Anyways to say the least I love my car and still own it and have no disire to sell it EVER. I did manege to have some close calls when I was younger, But they were good learning experiences and YES I did learn from them.

Make sure the rotor isn't upside down, which is the symbol for lesbians. People that don't know what a rotory engine is, may get the wrong impression.

I bought mine from a private seller when I was 18, now 21. The original owner bought it as his "high roller" car straight off the showroom car for his security business. Ever since I played the original Gran Turismo when I was a little kid I wanted one.... Then I realized I could actually afford one!! First drive I fell in love!! He kept telling me to go faster, bad idea.... The original engine lasted 94k miles until I blew it..... Still have it never gonna sell it! We are already married.. haha But no tattoos just in case IT leaves ME! haha But, I will always be a rotary guy because of all the V8 guys out there who can't back up their talk to my 7.... Size matters???? haha suuuuuuure guys

^good job...

the day i got mine i felt both spoiled and happy. i bought it myself and am doing all the work myself, so i shouldn't have felt like that... but i guess i just always thought it wasn't going to happen. towing it home on the trailer was great... people at the gas station were looking at it like: "WTF kind of car is that"?

+1 on waiting on the tattoo... that is if you have the money for it after working on the car i still don't have the money to get my leg piece finished!

Yeah, wait a little longer for that tattoo. Some people change their minds after their first engine dies and finds out how much it will cost to rebuild.
I had :
1 '80 RX7
1 '83 RX7
1 '85 RX7
1 '90 Turbo S5
1 '93 FD
and currently a '98 FD ...I had the engine died (apex seal) on my '98 and rebuilt it myself just to keep the cost down ,then you think "I'm gonna sell this thing when its up and running then you drive when it all finished and you just can't bring your self to part with it...Oh the joys of driving an FD/rotaries make you forget the heartaches FAST

DRIVE IT LIKE U STOLE IT!!

You mean between 0 and 5mph over the posted speed limit? So I don't attract attention from the cops?
