Talking For your benefit........maybe !

Some of you may know that I've been living with a LOW OIL press problem (40 psi max) for the past few months , well last weekend after I received my Gotham oil pan brace and my stainless steel oil pan stud kit I decided to check it out . What I found was that the floor of the sump was so badly dented , it was making contact with the lube oil pumps pickup (strainer) , I replaced the sump , knocked out the bottom of the replacement to make a little more clearance and put it back on . Now my idle pressure is 40 psi and most other times the pressure maintains between 80 and 100+ psi !

80-100 seems too high unless the car is cold or at high rpm.

Are you reading off an aftermarket guage or the stock one? The stock sending unit is garbage.

Hmmm, my oil pressure is usually pretty low too.

Edit: for those with a gauge what is it usually @ idle, at WOT, and at redline?

I have a newer low mileage sending unit for my stock gauge and it works fine, no need for an aftermarket one on my car

Rich, what does a good condition used sending unit go for? My gauge works intermittently, and I want to fix it. Thanks.

I don't think they're much more than 100 bucks from malloy. In this case I'd recommend getting a new one, a used one is going to be 11+ years old and will most likely go bad on you too
