Yikes! 19.2psi boost spike on stock turbos and motor!

Ok, something obviously went wrong some where, big time. Today I finally installed my blitz boost controller on my car. My mods are intake downpipe and exhaust. I set it up as directed, the in line on the wastegate to the in line on the solinoid etc etc. I go for a test spin, my gain is at 20 and my ratio at 11 in manual mode ( i tried auto to) and it is set on actuator on the blitz settings. I go WOT it spins and holy s*** i hit 10 than BAM 19.2. I Immediately brake and here a pop, almost like backfire. I think great my engine is gone. I turn it off, check all my wires and settings, double check it again and all is fine. I start it up, it some how starts, and its running ok, sort of, it wants to stall when I back up very slowly or when crawling up my driveway. Also have some hesitation when im at 50mph. Where did i go wrong? Is their anything I need to check? Should I have my motor checked out? Any help is appreciate. I took it for another spin, set the raito to 8.5 and gain to 5, if i go 3/4 throttle i still peack at 10.5 psi...

A nervous and paranoid Bryan

Did you run your wastegate lines like stock? Do you still have restirctor pills in them? You should run your wastegate line to the controller and then to the actuator bypassing the ecu and having no pills. Looks up damian's boost control setup.

Make sure there are NO LEAKS anywhere in the wastegate lines. If there is a leak, you get no pressure in the actuator, no wastegate movement, and no boost control.

As well, start your new boost controller fully opened up.

As for your motor, I'm sorry for your loss. The compression test will probably not be results you're hoping for.

Dave

for the wastegate lines, i used my own lines, so no pills. I ran the in on the wastegate to the in on the solinoid and the out on the wastegate to the out on the solinoid.

Same happened to a friend of mine. Except he hit over 35 psi. Needless to say, his motor didn't like that.

another thing is that it still has full boost, and it spools fine.

I checked all my settings again, i set the limiter at 9psi and the boost at 8.7, its in auto mode, and it set at actuator. I go 3/4 throttle and im still boostin to 10.8 and im letting off at 6000. Also, when i set my gain higher my motor bogs big time, so at gain of 5 i have very minimum bogging. I cant get it to control my boost what so ever. This is the blitz sbc id -III

the sbc-id does not like auto modes on rx7 with sequential twins. you need to use the manual mode. this should help.

i had the same problem about a year ago when steve kan tuned my car on a dyno. He set the boost to 10psi, however it kept creeping to 13psi and at one point it creeped to 19psi (which actually made about 425 hp.) I got lucky and my motor was still ok. Steve finished the session tuning my car with the silencer in which kept the boost from creeping. The culprit turned out to be a small hole in the silicone vacuum hose running from the wastegate to the boost controller solenoid. Once i swapped out the line i no longer had any problems. Btw, I'm also running the Blitz SBC-ID/

ok ill check out my wastegate lines again, i set it to manual and still have the same problems, at 1/2 throttle and boost set to 8psi and limiter set to 8psi im still seeing 10.5 psi. Ill check the wastegate lines tonight, motor is still running, but it wants to stall in stop and go traffic, kind of rough, but it all depends on what the gain is set at. I tried setting it from 2 and a bunch of numbers to 27, still no luck.
