haha you dont need to be going that fast, just find an empty safe road and go up to like 20-30k and brake hard until it locks up or the abs kicks in, if it locks up the only thing thats gonna happen is u wont be able to turn until you let of the brakes. so just make sure theres nothing your going to hit. its not that big of a deal

Ok so i took my Fd for a test drive to check the abs, turns out the abs is NOT working.
For a re-cap I have replaced:
all four sensors
Main control/brain for the abs.
I guees all that is left is to replace the ABS pump in the engine bay. This **** is starting to **** me off.
Anyone got any ideas before I rip the unit out?

If you need a quick fix just to get it registered you can just take the bulb off for the time being, after you get it registered put the bulb back on and find the problem...you may here a beeping sound though at first when you start the car...since the bulb is out it will do a series of beeps then stop..

I have been told I can bridge the "charge" light with the abs light so it will turn off once the car has started. I was just wanting to avoid this but now it looks like I cant as I have run out of time and need to get it registered. I want to get it sorted but it will ahve to wait now i guess.

Ok so I am really really confused now, I have replaced everything to do with the ABS system now, all sensors, control unit and the abs pump! and the light is still on, I have not bled the system yet but I would not think this would cause the light to be on. can anyone please help?????? I am really stuck on this one.

I am not sure, I pulled it out of another RX7 and installed it at the same time. I had a guy come over today and give the car a diagnostic check, no error codes came up and the light is on.......
He told me that because I have replaced the ABS pump in the engine bay that it may need to be driven to switch off the light so i will be bleeding the system this afternoon and taking it up the road to see. If it does not turn off I am back at sqaure 1, I checked the wiring around where they were cut when the car was stolen and I can not see any damage to the cars rear section of the loom.
If the light does not turn off today I will have to pay this guy to diagnose the problem as I need to get my car complied and certified so I am able to drive it on the road! its really depressing, paying $400 to have my car checked for compliance so I can drive it and so far it has cost me another grand on top due to certifier fees, abs diagnostic check, chassis 3d measurement and 4 wheel wheel alignment! not to mention the sundry stuff I had to get. I might as well add in the $500 I spent on my drumkit this week but thats just another drama!

When I turn the key on so that the "reds" are on I hear a click come from the engine bay but all the lights dim for a sec and then the heat light goes off
If i turn the engine on the light dims upon starting but stays lit and doesnt change. The charge light goes off once engine is running.

check for continuity at each sensor with a multi meter...
check from the end of each sensor to were the wire goes up to the control unit.... if you have a broken wiree that abs light will saty on all the time.

Ok so I have a bit of an update.
I have spent the last 4 hrours today trying to diagnose the prob with the ABS system I started with checking the abs pump itself then I checked the impedance of the wheels sensors as per the manual, they all checked out, all within the specs and from what I could tell operational. I then removed the abs control unit in the boot (trunk) and checked the impedance or continuity for the sensors to the main harness and I found that there was no signal from the left front sensor so I pulled out the ecu and was looking at the wiring harness and I noticed that the wires for the l/f sensor was not in the connector. I checked further and found that the wires were connected to another plug, then i looked at the other 2 plugs to compare and I have found that the wiring configuration is totally different for each plug. The reason for this is that my car was originally Automatic, the car was stolen and the main loom was cut in several places so I replaced it with a front loom from a manual car, turns out the auto looms are configured differently and will not interchange with the manual loom. So next weekend I will be stripping the interior out of my car and making another trip up North to get the remainder of the loom from the car that the front half of my loom is from.
I really didnt think that the auto loom would be this different but I think that my problem is over. I will let you all know what happens next week once I replace the loom.
One more thing, when consulting my manual I noticed that the wiring diagrams in the manual were not coinciding with the connections on my abs harness, turns out that the manual I have is for the American market and the wiring has been reversed as the Americam cars are Left hand drive not right hand drive. Just for those who might get really stumped if using the same manual.

I have problem with ABS light and A/C vent light on. Can any one help?
I think two issues are related.
One day, the ABS warning light came up. I just ignored it.
Then I realize the a/c vent light is on when I removed the key
from the ignition. ie I can even turn on the A/C with the key
removed
I have tried many ways to fix the problem. Even replaced the ABS pump
and replaced the ABS control unit. But no luck.
I have noticed one thing that is interesting.
* When removed the ABS control unit at the rear. The A/C vent light goes off when I removed the key. (Basically this fix the air vent light issue) But the ABS
light on the dash still on.
Can anyone help?

The ABS light will not blink for diagnostics on a 93. I had the same problem on mine and I am fairly certain that it was one of the sensors on the transmission. The problem began after a installed a new engine and was solved after I installed another engine along with a new emissions harness. Make sure your connections are tight and none of these sensors are damaged.

OP i don't have any insight on the ABS problem, my light came on years ago and i just pulled the bulb, maybe one day ill see what the issue is.
But anyways, as far as the heater fan only working on high, i noticed in your sig you have "apexi stuff" Do you happen to have a Power Fc? If so this may be why the fan speed only works on high. There is more information about this in the PFC section as well as how to fix it by using a botch relay.

Hey I know I have fixed my problem but this may help. When I had the diagnostics guy around we had a bit of trouble getting the light to come on once a sensor was disconnected so we ended up taking off the negative terminal and resetting the cars electrical system by holding down the brake pedal for 10-20 seconds. give this a go as it may just need re-setting after the new units have been installed. Have you also bled the brake system properly? I have heard they may trigger a fault as a result of some type of air lock.
