yet another ABS light on problem - pic needed (yes I searched)

I have had my ABS light on since I got my car going, I replaced the ABS control unit the other day and that didnt fix it, I just now finished replacing all the ABS sensors on the car and it is still on. I have just searched on the topic and found that it may be the fuse, my rear wiper isnt working so I am thinking it is the fuse.

Here is my problem. I went to check the fuses and the labels are in Japanese (go figure) so I cannot tell which one is the fuse for the rear wiper. I would check each fuse but I do not have a tester to do so.

Could someone please post a pic of the fuse cover in english for me?

Thanks once again.

Sounds like its your fuse for sure. Does your heater fan work?

Just check all the fuses, replace the blown one. My fuse box was in japanese was well, i checked all of them.

I had the same problem. It's the bottom left (10 amp). Also my heater wouldn't work just cuz of the rear wiper fuse. I'll try and post a pic asap. you must of wasted a lot of money buying all that stuff if when it was just a fuse.

Well I thought it was my fuse but I just checked them all one by one and they all appear fine, maybe I should borrow a test light and check the connections incase there is a bad connection?
Funny you should mention the blower fan, it goes but only on full so i am not sure what is going on.

Cool thanks for that, I just re-checked the rear wiper and it is working, I dont have an arm on it so i guess I didnt look properly. So I also checked the ABS fuse in the engine bay and that seems fine too. Does the ABS unit in the engine bay crap out at all? I am sort of running out of ideas here as the only thing left to replace is the ABS unit itself.
I also just reset the cars electrical system by taking off a battery terminal and put my foot on the brake for 20 seconds, the light is still on.
If all my tests fail would it be worth taking it to an auto sparky to diagnose it? I dont htink many have the mazda diagnostic checker.
Or maybe I should just rig the ABS light up to the charge light so it comes on and goes off at the same time.

check the abs rings make sure they are all clean and nothing stuck between the teeth....

I checked and cleaned all of the rings yesterday when I replaced the sensors using CRC and a rag, I cleaned the sensors too before installation. I re-set the comptuers in the car and drove it to see if it came right but no change

Any other ideas?

As for the blower fan resistor, where is that located? I have an entire spare loom which I can rob parts if need be.

Have you tried checking the ABS computer in the boot? Located behind the interior trim on the fuel door side.

have you tried pulling the code from the ABS system, it will tell you exactly what the problem is.

tons easier then just guessing, because even the slightest bit of extra resistance in one of the ABS wires will set the light.

A member PM'd me and asked me to post a pic of the dash light because he thought it could be the airbag light instead.

Run down of wiring:
The car used to be auto and it had an airbag set up but I converted it to manual and replaced the entire cabin (not engine loom and goes behind the dash) and engine bay loom with a manual non airbag one.

I was thinking on my way back from up north today, seeing as it was auto, could it be possible that the ABS unit in the engine bay is designed for an auto model rather than manual seeing as the original loom has changed? I will check the part numbers against a manual version to double check.

It seems I have a spare series 7 ABS unit here, would that be interchangeable? I know the engine wiring is not between series 6 and 7 etc.

The ABS code is the number of times the ABS light blinks in succession. Example - 9 blinks pause 9 blinks pause etc is a front impact sensor. There's a list of the code meanings in the forum, just search for it.

Not sure which pump you have pictured, the S7 starts with an F123 prefix. I currently have a S6 pump and S7 ABS computer installed and it is triggering a fault - rear of the harness is different, it plugs into the S6 loom OK at the front. Compatibility between later ABS pump and forward harness...will find out shortly I expect.

The one pictured is the series 6 unit in my car, I should have been more clear i guess. I dont really want to use it as the new car I am looking a getting may require the s7 abs pump.

grrr getting so frustrating!

ok so I went and consulted my manual again and found this. I am not sure how to read it really or what to do next but at least it shows the symptom I am having.

maybe it's the fuse in the black box on the abs pump itself.

i have just had my engine out and also the rear end,, now all is back together and the abs light is on, so i checked to see if the abs worked and nope it dosent,(not that im complaining )
Have you tried yours to see if it works or not? because it might help some people out on here trying to figure it out, i would have suggested some possible solutions but everyone has already said all i know.

if you have already posted saying wether you have tried to see if it works than please disregard my post.
