Yellow vs. Silver

I feel like it's time for another color discussion. Personally, I decided not to go for the red because it's too common. So my choice now comes down to yellow and silver. Actually, I like yellow more. Are you for or against me?

Get what ever color YOU like. Honestly, none of our opinions makes a hill of beans if it s not what you like.

Best of luck!

I really like both. That's why I need your opinions. That will help me choose my color.

This time, yellow will be harder to find than silver. Yellow was only available in '93 and only on the R1, so you're limited to that one car. If you like the '93 R1 and like yellow - get it... it will be worth more than the silver in the future because Mazda only made 350 of them ever, so they are pretty rare.

When it first came out, I thought that the yellow was the coolest thing on the planet, and I think they picked a really good shade... As time goes on, it does wear its age well, as should last pretty well as it's a lighter color.

I'm still happy with my Silver.

I'm still happy with my yellow one! Regardless good luck finding either one. Silver RX-7s are difficult to find in their own right.

heh... i'd say go for whichever one you can find in good condition. silver is tough to find and yellow is even harder. seriously tho, i think color is a little overrated, i went through a lot of trouble to get a cym when i could have probably spent less on a different color car. i think finding one in condition is just as important as finding your favorite color.

No, I think the color is the most important, unless you have the $$ to repaint it.

Heh, well you're gonna need $$ to fix the car too if u just buy a car cause of the color and ignore other factors such as mileage and condition. In the end, mechanical problems will cost you much more than a paint job, unless you're already quite familiar w/ rotaries and you can do most of the work yourself.

I would never paint my car yellow because everyone would go ... oh cool a CYM ... is it original? Then you go no .... and you got ohhhhhh and that would SUCK! As a mater of fact I hate repaints (to a different color) almost all together. I really like the montego to electric blue though ..... you almost never see a good montego though. SPOautos has far and away the best montego I have ever seen. One of the nicest kept FDs too!

Hey silver93, you brought up a good topic : personality. I guess yellow represents energy? And silver means cool?

i personally like red. i dont care that it is the most common, i think it looks the best.

i look at it from a modification standpoint.

red- the best color if your keeping the body stock. almost all rims look good on a VR FD, other than white or bronze, so you have a lot to choose from. also, red seats inside accent the car very nicely.

black- a good color if your keeping the body stock. you cant even see a body kit on a black car anyways. there are endless possibilities for modifications here. any color rim looks good on black, esspecially bronze! red seats will kick *** too.

CYM- havnt seen too many kitted CYM's, so cant comment kit wise. dont have any choices interior wise. black is the only interior color than goes with yellow. only bling bling or black rims look good on CYM FDs.

white- a pretty good color stock or body kit wise. same as black, endless combinations of mods that will look good.

silver- the best color for if you have a body kit. but i personally hate stock silver FD's. they are ugly, imo. only rims that look good on it are black/anthracite/gunmetal, and some bling bling rims.

montego blue- what was mazda thinking!!

that is also the order of colors in which i like.

The paint only looks that good because of the camera ...... the roof has faded a little ... plus various sections have been repainted at times. I'll completely repaint in a year when I am done making modifications and I'm only driving it on nice days.

I love montego blue,
what was mazda thinking? they were thinking it's
a slick "midnight" look, with a cameleon green thing goin on,
and that it was cool,
and they were right.

not the BEST shade of blue out there, but it's different,
and looks nice.

Have to pick the right rims for it though.

I'm no help.

I like the CYM because of its rarity, and I like the actual color too.

But I prefer the interiors of the 94 and 95 models. I also prefer the Touring option package over the R1.

I figure if you're gonna hella modify one anyway, you might as well start with a base model since you're gonna upgrade everything to better than stock.

I think Silver has a nice, subtle, somewhat understated contrast with the black appointments of the car (tires, taillights, trim, and interior).

I think montego blue sucks. It's almost like black and Mazda should've made a lighter blue.

A color isn't going to make it worth more since it's not origanal. Personally, I'd go for silver.... I like those alot.
