Wrecked
??? I grew up driving on icy roads. I always thought RWD was much safer that FWD. Sure, FWD gets you going quicker but RWD is much safer (talking about manual transmission vehicles). Going too fast on ice and take your foot off the gas and you get
FWD - Front wheels lose traction and you end up in the guardrail or ditch.
RWD - Rear starts to drift which is easy to counter steer for, then give it some gas.
I've never crashed on ice, but if I did I'd have the sense to know I was driving too fast for conditions and not blame it on something else....

EDIT: And I am not just blaming the weather I was in the car driving. I am at fault as well but the weather was the only reason I lost control so yes me not being able to recover the slide was my fault but the reason I went into a slide was not. 25mph on a straight then a quarter of the way around the turn i hit ice. my fault for being out. mining companys fault for the water on the road weathers fault for even more water on road that turned into ice. now are we all done playing the blame game lol?
Dude what do you expect people to say? No one will pat you on the back and say it will be alright, you will get your *** flamed for wrecking an FD! Period! Yeah it sucks and yeah the damage isnt too bad, but your basically saying, "hey guys I fucked up driving my FD in freezing conditions"
Nuff said. Its like you're asking for a kick in the nuts. After just being kicked in the nuts.

Everybody lay off a bit. And those of you who live in areas where 1/2 an inch of snow means chaos on the roads have no idea what it's like to try and control a car regardless of speed on a sheet of ice or black ice. Good luck with the fix.
sorry to hear about the FD but if the Ice thing is true I dont think a front wheel drive car would have helped in your situation any way

2- Loosing controle, not being able to get the car back, blaming the weather for what your own two hands and feet where doing...* Ide say you hit the nail on the head champ.
