I was nearly killed by a drunk driver, anyone who drinks and drives should be killed. They are lower than dirt. You escaped without injury, think hard and long about your actions, and just think what would have happened if that was a child or something, instead of a sign pole.

Pretty bad mistake, but a mistake. I hate drunk drivers cause it killed my bestfriend. But you're very fortunate. Fix the car up and be responisble. Be thankful you didn't hurt anyone.

Well, Im gonna put a positive spin on this and say its a good thing. Most people that drive drunk need a REASON to stop. Its obviously a stupid thing to do, but they won't quite until something finally happens and they get that moment of clarity, their epiphany, and realize how stupid it actually is. I personally hate all drunk driver even more since last summer, when some drunken sorority bitch rear-ended my week old, PERFECT Yellow E36 M3. Still brings a tear to my eye!

Thankfully, your moment came without seriously injuring anyone, or totalling your car. Sounds like the damage can be fixed, and that you learned a VALUABLE lesson tonight.

I remember a post from a guy in the kills section, that was pretty much bragging about driving, and racing while drunk - and THAT guy was an idiot. This guy seems like he knows what he did wrong, and I don't think he would've shared it with us (at the obvious risk of getting himself flamed) if he didn't feel honestly bad about it. So, I hope you never drive drunk again.

Sorry but did you have your DAKAR M3 for only a week? Because E36's are obviously the older body style. BTW nice choice my friend has a daytona violet m3 and it's sweet. But i definetly agree with you with the whole this is a reason to stop.

OK, lets review:

19 years old and drunk.
No designated driver.
Getting in the car and driving drunk
Endangering a passengers life while driving drunk
Attempting to drift while drunk
Driving your dream car while drunk
Endangering the lives of other drivers on the road
Risking arrest and jail
Risking having your car being taken by police
And of course.............

Wrecking your beautiful car because you are a ******* idiot!!!

Did I miss anything??

Yes. He's one of the few who seemed to have learn his lesson without SERIOUS damage. Does that justify the stupidity? Of course not. But a lesson learned is always a wonderful thing, particularly when it involves an act which is potentially fatal.

On a side note, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a teenager who hasnt done something equally as stupid. God knows I did some foolish things before learning my lesson.

Jesus, just read it, that girl got what she deserved....... I have to admit, I'm pretty paranoid when it comes to drinikng and driving, won't drive if I've had more than 2 drinks in an hour, even if I don't feel anything. I've seen my friends try and pull off stupid **** like this while drunk. They got away with it, but if I can do anything about it, I'd like to keep them out of troube. Hell, if they get arrested, who in the hell am I gonna chill with?

^^^^

I agree with this guy, we've all done stupid things when we first started driving, but the thing is, he's lernt his lesson now, is he still gonna remember this a year or two down the road??? I keep pics of my totalled mustang at work in my desk to remind me never to even think of something stupid (the accident wasn't my fault, but it reminds me of what can happen when people act like retards)

how can everyone ASSUME that this kid has learned his lesson?? He's probably still sleeping off the hangover. Obviously he will be upset and depressed about messing his car up. Actions speak louder than words

I think you answered your own question. "Obviously he will be upset and depressed about messing his car up." People as a whole have a tendency to learn from mistakes and further appreciate that which they care for when their stupidity compromises it.

Furthermore, based on the tone of his post (aside from the drunken slur to it), there is certainly more evidence that he will learn from it rather than not. So, should we ASSUME that this kid has not or will not learn his lesson?

There are of course exceptions, and I will agree that actions do speak louder than words. I only hope we dont see a similar post in the future.

Yep. Doing something stupid like this indicates a tendency. For most drivers that drive while drunk, it is not a one time occurence. I wonder how many other times he drove while drunk, and didn't crash. The odds are that this was not the first time ........... and won't be the last.

What a ******* dumb ***. Why in the hell would you go out and drink when there is no one to drive you home. If you had any kind of friends they would have come to pick you up. You should have not taken the 7 our when you are going to the bars any how. I went out and got drunk last night and guess what I DID NOT DRIVE. You are really lucky no one else got hurt. The poor sign pole. I hope that you say that you are sorry to it.
