Wow, what a difference!

WOW! Ok, I just wanted to share with you guys on my recent clutch install. I bought the ACT street/slip clutch cuz mine was starting to go out. Well let me tell you, don't think its not serious if your clutch starts to slip. CHeck it out right away, cuz its definitely not safe. Just from my experience i can say this. So I was coming down to Atlanta from Nashville for Thanksgiving this Monday and it was incredible that I actually made it. It was started slipping in first! I could barely make it up hills over 50 mph. I had to stay in the right lane most of the time just so I wouldnt get run over. In order to even accelerate I had to keep the rpms up like 100rpms over what it would usually take. For instance, in order to stay at 80 I would have to have the car at 4k instead of 3k. Needless to say I didn't stay at that speed for long. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know how much better this new ACT clutch is. IT's incredible for me. So much more grip on the take off, its like the car wants to rocket off now instead of taking it real slow. I havent been dumping it by any means, I just when normal when I'm getting into first gear.
Also, the clutch was so bad, it began to eat away at my flywheel a bit. The good news is I managed to get a new stock flywheel put on for free. Suweet. So, thats my story. I can't wait till I get some more daily driven miles on my car so I can really test it out. By the way I use my car as a daily driver so if anyone uses theirs as so and is thinking about upgrading their clutch, this is an excellent choice.

I have the same clutch, and I gotta say I love it. Pedal pressure is near stock, and it holds really well.

Engagement takes a little getting used to. Theres no engagement time, it's either in or out. A friend of mine drove my car (he has an AWD turbo talon with an ACT clutch) and I told him that the clutch engages RIGHT NOW not a little at a time, but NOW! He still came really close to stalling it every time he started moving in 1st.

Haha, yeah seriously! Sadly, I stalled like 3 times in a row when I first tried driving it. I'm really starting to appreciate the "in or out" feel though, it defintely takes off on the pedal time. Oh yeah, also while it was being changed apparently one of my shifter bushings was messed up or what I'm not sure but someting was wrong with one of them. So much that the shifter would really shake in place in each gear. I didn't know aby better cuz it waslike that when I got the car. But they replaced that, so know the clutch is better and it changes gears a lot cleaner. I feel like I have a completely different car!! It's amazing what a little drivetrain "tuning" can do!

I remember when I first got the act clutch installed. The second off the lift I hopped to reverse the car out of the shop. I was surprised at how fast it gripped, it gave it a loud screech when the rear tires left a small mark in the shop's newly painted floor. remember to break it in. I know its tempting to do burnouts but you dont wanna have to replace it in less than a year.

Whenever I drive teddy's car that has a 6 puck springless clutch I always catch myself thinking about how to drive the thing. Its just an on-off switch. For a period of 3 months I drove his car daily to work wearing heels on some occasions. Not fun. I am so glad I didnt opt to install a springless puck clutch in my car. It would have drove me crazy. For a car that you drive on a daily basis, or even just want to be comfortable driving the ACT is the best choice.

Just got the ACT installed, love it. But it was tough getting used how it engaged. I never drove anything that engaged as soon as you come off the floor.
