Pineapple clutch owners - question

Any Pineapple 6-puck owners here? Got a couple questions.

Since installing it, the action in 1st obviously takes getting used to - but isn't that big a deal while starting out.

It's reverse and inching forward in 1st (say parking in a garage) that is a total bitch.

Reverse has tons of chatter - which I think might have to do with pre-existing blown out rear and diff bushings. Inching forward requires slip obviously - which results in not-nice sounding chatter.

Reverse actually feels like I'm going to trash the rear from the amount of bucking/chattering it does.

Clutch has maybe 250 miles on it, so it may still need some breaking in.

Installed with a JUN 8.5 lb FW that was resurfaced 10 thou. before use (still has plenty left).

Anyone have any input? The clutch is great otherwise. I'm just trying to seperate what is normal from what might be my own bushing/mount issues.

it sounds like you just need to break it in fully still. Usually at least 500 miles. If its still doing it then, that's when you need to start asking questions. Good choice on clutch and FW btw!

Yep, that's what I figured.

Now that I think about it, I did have some clutch chatter in reverse with the stock clutch/FW/PP (I'm not dumping the clutch here folks) - so I'm shooting towards my rear end bushings/mounts as the culprit.

Thanks BTW I'm glad with the setup too. Rev-matching is very fast and easy to do, awesome throttle-response. You downshift and go - it's effortless.

No matter what anyone says, lightweight flywheels (sub 10 lb) are totally streetable.

Is the PineApple clutch a sprung or unsprung hub? If unsprung...the extra movement/engagement is translated to the rest of the drivetrain. My ACT did this as well in Reverse more than first.( I suspect my bushings in the rear need to be replaced as well) Just break it in and get used to the lightswitch you put in your car!!! It was a love/hate relationship for me. Can't decide what to go with next.

Nah, it's sprung.

I like it alot. After I got it I blew SanJo's intercooler piping right off his IC when he got to close to my car.

That's some clutch action!

I have no problem in reverse; having the engine torque damper helps,

I have 600 miles on it. When cold, it's fine. When hot, it's grabbby like a SOB within 1/16 of an inch of pedal movement. I don't like it. I'm going back to a full face clutch after it wears out.

Everytime I have to go to first and reverse to park, the clutch smell is there.

If your driving involves 5-6 miles of stop and go traffic, don't get it. It's fine on the highway use and track use though.

Same here. You cannot slip that clutch without it starting to smell. What yours smell like?
