I thought my 2nd gear syncro was fucked up because everytime I shifted from 1st to 2nd it would grind even though I put in new tranny fluid already. But tonight I discovered something new. It was my technique that made it grind! I was cruising around and the 2nd gear was pissing me off, all of a sudden I changed my shifting habit from touching the shift **** on the top with my palm (horizontal position), to grabbing the body of the shift **** with my four fingers (vertical). And it didnt grind! The shift was smooth as hell. 1st to 2nd is never the same anymore! I can finally shift mad quick yo!

 

Yup. Thats how I shift. If I force it really REALLY fast it will grind. If I use a gentle yet forceful push on it the way you described, its as smooth as butter. Also the mobil 1 in the tranny made a real big difference(less noise and friction).
