If I purchase this: OLED Universal APEXi Power FC Commander, APEXi FC Commander - SakeBomb Garage LLC will I need a new tune? Has anyone tried this?

That is just the programmer. The tune is stored in the ECU. You will not need a tune.

Depending on your setup, you may or may not need a tune. The base map that comes in a power fc leaves a lot to be desired in terms of safety and drivability. It is also intended for very mildly modified cars: intake, exhaust, etc. Any rx7 will benefit from a tune by a professional tuner.

 

I think the OP just swapped out an original commander for one of the OLED commanders.

 

It just plugs into the PFC, it does not do a thing to the existing tune.
