WOT at start...help

ok i took the throttle body off to change plug wires and now i have a problem. when i start the car it revs to wide open throttle. and then i have to shut the car off. checked everything twice to make sure everything was put back. any ideas? and one more thing is that now the RPM needle with the car off rests on the opposite side of the guage at like 9000RPM

Maybe you snagged the throttle or cruise control cable in the process? Maybe there is a huge vac leak now?

As for the tach... I dunno. I've never seen that happen.

there could also be a large air leak after the throttle body
