YZF, even for someone as spiritual as you claim to be, that is a dumbass thing to think and/or say. I see the same things here. You know what? The people behind the wheel come straight out of this movie:

Stupidity knows no color. In this day and age, I thought you would have figure that out by know.

there are exceptions to everything, but some generalizations are pretty accurate, and it's a sad commentary on african americans if you ask me....

oh wait, the Escalades with incredibly gaudy "pimpin" 20 inch rims and spinners make up for all that!
Thats ridiculous. How does this **** be tolerated on the forum? I guess its safe to say that all mexicans are lazy, and all russians only drink vodka, right? ****, if were goin on generalizations those must be correct.

That's cool, you're right, it isn't as bad as other comments that you could have made. But where do you draw the line? You sound intelligent enough to have other "descriptive" terms to use, don't lower yourself because others are at that level of mentality. Off soap box now.

Do not epoxy your FPD, replace the unit if it's suspect. Even if you don't think that's the issue, if it's got a lot of miles on it, replace it. It's a $100 part that you would have wished you spent while looking at your smoldering car.

Are you willing to bet your car and possibly your life on what you heard? I just replaced my FPD, there was an inch deep pool of gas sitting right on top of my engine, that could have turned out real ugly. After fixing that issue, I now drive with a fire extinguisher in my car. FPD is the one part that I would not mess with a cheap fix, you have too much to lose.

The difference there is that blacks use those racist terms in a self-deprecating manner as a way of poking fun and reducing the venomous aspect that it carried for them in the past. Would you go up to a group of African-Americans you didn't know and start a conversation using some of the "racist" terms they use among themselves?
Making any statement that stereotypes an ethnicity or religion is a racist statement.

There sure are some people on this forum full of themselves. Issuing a lecture on racial issues in a car forum is nothing but vacuous posturing. Maybe you can find somewhere else on the internet to run your "I'm even more politically correct than you are" contest.

It has nothing to do with that at all. From someone so educated, that was not a well thought out statement.

First off, I am black. Do I like the phase "afro engineered" when saying it was done poorly? No. While the use of "afro" verses other terms, which could have been used, is more "PC"; the meaning is still the same. If you cannot see that, then you aren't as intelligent as some of your posts lead us to believe. Then again, maybe you think all Muslims are terrorist as well.

The idea/goal of this forum is to make it welcome to all walks of life who share a common interest. And for them to be able to talk about their interest without being insulted or frowned on because of any bigotry.

You can get them at most local autoshops. Just make sure to get one specifically for automotives. IIRC, the chemicals used are less damaging for the automotive ones verses a simple house model and most are rated for fluid and electrical fires.

Any of those would be fine. They are B & C rated (fluids and electrical). The number is the power, so the higher the number the more power it has.

Sorry guys, but I tend to agree with this statement of the growing over sensitivity of people these days. Afterall if what Mahjik says is true;

then wouldn't gay people be offended by these smileys?

And women by these?

If that's not deemed offensive then where do we draw the line?

I'm not saying that the thread starter should have posted that comment or that we should eliminate those smileys, but I think everyone needs to regain their sense of humor and understanding (up to a limit of course).

Actually, the original poster already apologized for the statement. Since he already apologized, I see no reason to edit his orignal statement (besides, I'm not really a moderator anymore).

I do wish that people could "walk a mile in someone else's shoes". It really would offer them a different perspective on what life is like outside their small world.

You wouldn't know one way or another because this is a CAR FORUM.

Ok, just because you disagree, it vacuous. Thanks for the adult conversation.

However, you can take a read here:

Car forum or not, it has rules. You don't have to like them, but while you are here you do have to abide by them.
