Well thank you all for the feed back ... The Fd was my dream car and was babied... Here is the story .... It shut off on me about 2months ago so i just put a new fuel pump filter and plugs into it ... It fired right up so i decided to take it for a test run with my friend following me. I live in the mtns in Ga so the rds are real curvy... I was going about 45mph and the engine started sputtering around a curve and the kicked back in resulting the the tires spinning and me going off the side of the mtn flipping into a tree . No one was hurt just minor scratches didnt even to to the hospital. Would love to get a Roller and rebuild it. For all you jack asses who feel the need to be rude get off this thread ... I have been racing motorcyles since i was 4yr old and have been speeds that only some of you will dream of getting to.

I would presume it matters because if he just bought the car, then he had very little experience driving it. If that was the case, the likelihood of an accident like this on curvy roads and hills was more probable.

Granted insulting the guy because he had an accident is not cool either. I hope everything is ok with you. Rebuild or try a new direction. That car looks like a total loss, part it out and rebuild.

Or you could always import a RHD JDM car for cheaper, and figure something out.

If you want to sell some interior parts, I would be interested.

Glad you weren't hurt and as I said before, it only takes a moment to end up in real trouble. If the FD is still your dream, then find a roller, find a garage, and go to it. If not, I'm sure there are a bunch of folks who would be more than willing to buy parts off you.

I'm not sure that last statement is going to have the desired effect of demonstrating your sanity and competence. When I watch those guys race motorcycles, I always question their mental competence.

Unfortunately people in America can't just import RX-7's from Japan (or anywhere else in the world) without a LOT of cost and hassle, that's covered in the FAQ (you should read it). Nice thought though....

My suggestion would be pretty much in line with what others have already said. If the motor is good than salvage it and find a nice roller. Part out what you can and hope your insurance comes through for you (you do have it fully insured, don't you?)

LIES!

the guy just blatantly lied about how long he's owned it. check this out:

FS: 94 BB Touring (Texas)

here it is when he bought it back in mid/late sept 2007:

there's the car listed for sale by the previous owner in sept 2007. and here is a reply posted by jonhsmith in that thread on 09/19/2007

Hey its Ion did you get the title yet? if so please send the rx7 to 3520 steve dr marietta ga 30064 your email address got erased along with ur phone number by my ex so just send me an email bnb4all@hotmail.com
so he got the car sometime around mid/late sept. so he has only owned the car for like 7 or so months.

i totally agree. i had a problem with my motor sputtering before and it's not going to do a huge burnout and slide sideways because of an issue like this.

like i said, get a civic

I'd put money on it being a drifting accident. Another FD lost to the wonderful world of ******* morons...

wow... if you wrecked the car, just admit to it... lying about it to try to make it look like it wasnt your fault only makes you look like a tool...

eitherway, buy a roller if you have to...

Well whatever the reason for the crash, the solution(s) are still the same.

As long as you are OK, that is all that matters. Money comes and goes, I hope you have some more to buy a roller and move necessary parts.

Good luck with that.

Interesting what research can do to destroy someone's credibility. This forum is filled with detectives.

I would have said I am undercover FBI agent & was chasing a terrorist. The passenger shot me off the road with a stinger missile.

Or the old standby..........

A deer ran out in front of me.

Fuel starvation is a common occurrence in Autocross & lapping days with less than 1/2 tank of gas. Funny thing is it never sent me flying off the track.

I dream of traveling at the speed of light.

Apparently 45 was a little to fast for you.
