Question Wiring Problem After Engine Swap

I finished my first FD engine swap, and now I have a wiring problem. When I put the key in, I get the beeping that the key is in with the door open, but when I turn the key, all I have power to are the lights...headlights, tail, running, overhead and dash. There are no other signs of life.

I thought I wired everything back up right, but obviously I missed something or got something wrong. I have checked the fuses and all are fine. Anyone have any ideas where to start? I really would like to avoid pulling everything back apart tracking this down.

I have the wiring diagrams, shop manuals, etc. Does anyone know where I can find an actual picture showing a full wiring harness with all the connections identified?

Thanks...

Depends on how you did the engine harness.

If you pulled it with the engine; then check that all connectors that where pushed back through the firewall were connected. You might have missed one.

If you left it in but disconnected from the engine and trans, then check all of those.

In otherwords, check everthing!

If you also don't have power to windows or starter then you may have missed the connector that pluggs into the fuse box on the battery up front. That's what I forgot when I installed my motor.

same exact thing happened to me. It was the ground wire on the starter that had come off during reinstallation of engine. I would try that, it very easy to miss

I pulled the harness with the engine and have checked and rechecked the connections on the inside. I checked the connections to the starter and the fuse box. All those look right. No doubt this will be something really simple, but a real pain to track down.

I have checked everything I can see without pulling things back off, but I have found nothing that looks wrong. Anybody have any other ideas where to check first or how to narrow it down before I start pulling everything back apart?

Thanks!

Okay, I have a little more information. I have no voltage on the harness at the ECU. I have 13.7v at the EGI relay. When I checked the voltage at the fuse, I have what I believe to be a problem. Assuming I understand how the fuses are wired in, I should not be able to read 12+ volts on both connections to the EGI fuse with the fuse removed. But I have power readings on both sides. I should only have voltage on the side next to the battery connection. I read 12.4v on the right side that I think should be cold. The other fuses are showing between a 10th and a 3rd of a volt on the right side. I assume that I have something cross connected in my harness or something is shorted out. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!
