Question Original Tires?

Been looking at some used FD's and I'm finding some that say original everything including tires. I'm skeptical as to whether or not the tires from a 93-95 FD can still be the original tires after 11, 10, and 9 years. The cars apparently have only 20,000-30,000 miles on them. Can this be true or is it a lie?

I had my origional tires up until about 2 years ago... with about 20k on the car, wasnt driven on more then weekends, until I got it and became a daily driver. The tires were cracking at the sidewall though.

I purchased an FD with 40K miles this year and it had original tires in front and 5 year old replacements in back. Tires degrade over time. The original tires on my car where unsafe so I replaced all 4. Check the top rated performance tire by consumer reports, which can be had for all of $80. each. BTW check the air filter, it's probably original too. Low milage cars have 11 years of age and are often great because the engine and turbos haven't been wasted but all other components including rubber hoses/belts/battery will show their age.

Top-rated Performance tires for $80 each? What are they? Hopefully they're not all-seasons... for RX-7 levels of power, it's a good idea to buy something that will handle speeds of 150mph, with a traction rating of AA if possible. Toyo T1-S , Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Pole Position, BFGoodrich T/A KDW, Pirelli Asimetrico, etc... Most of those are about double that price, but worth every penny.

Yes it can be true. When I got my 7500 mile 94 2 years ago, it still had the original P-0s.

Got mine last october w/ 30k and it STILL has the original tires. Got some decent tread left and not too worn on the sidewalls. Almost like the owner put it on jacks during the winter....
