wiring harness removal
I am in the middle of removing the wiring harness from the engine bay. I took off the front fenders and exposed the rubber stoppers (I don't know what they're exactly called. Anyone?) where the wiring harness enters the interior. How do you remove the harness from there? Do you just cut the wires before it enters the rubber stopper or do the rubber pieces come out? I tried removing the rubber stoppers, but they're on pretty tight.

Do not cut any wire , you are talking about the harnes going into the cab ,under the ABS unit yes?? Garfinkle removes the ABS unit to get to the harnes .The rubber ring around the harnes will come out easy ,push down on the top and pull out on the rubber rings edge it will come out when you get it started. some will say not to remove the ABS but removing and putting the rubber back in is easy that way and he is assured of getting it in correctly

I loosen the abs unit, but don't remove it. Make sure the harness is unplugged from the ECU, and that the plate holdinng it to the firewall on the inside of the cab is removed. That plate is held on by two 10mm nuts. With the plate on it will be nearly impossible to get the harness out; with it off, it will be a snap. The rubber grommet will just pull right out.

I've removed and replaced about 20 motors from FDs. I've never loosened or removed the ABS pump to get them in or out.
Remove the pass side door sill (pulls up) and remove the pass side kick panel (two plastic snap rivets), you'll see the ECU, unbolt it (3 10mm bolts) then unplug all 4 plugs (two of them go to the dash) and then remove the little olive drab colored metal cover for the engine harness on the firewall. Follow the harness up and unplug another couple plugs that plug into the dash harness. Then go to the engine bay and pull the harness gently, sometimes I have to push and pull a couple of times. It should come right out.
To put it back in without moving the ABS pump and get the rubber boot actually popped back into the firewall I use a long flat prybar and some silicone lube on the boot, it usually just pops back in.
Otherwise loosening the ABS pump isn't too hard and gives you some more room to deal.

Ok, I think you guys are referring to the wrong thing or I just didn't explain myself clearly enough. I was referring to the clump of wires that goes from the driver side behind the fender to the front of the car and loops around to the passenger side under the fender. Both ends split at the end and each of the ends goes through a rubber piece that I'm guessing seals out water, dirt, etc. How do I remove this huge snake of wires? Are there connectors in the interior that disconnects this harness from the the wires coming in? That way I can remove the exterior harness without have to take out the interior harness. Am I making sense?

yes you can easily remove it without cutting it... just unplug all the connectors from the inside... there are a whole bunch and most of them are a pita to get to.
My first question would be why do you want to do this? Do you plan on putting it back in?
don't you love how they ran wires all the way arround the front of the car... my favorite is the front wiper motor connector, that wire that runs to the control stalk was like 3 miles long.
