Black is the sensor wire, that goes to the ECU, just splice it into the wire that goes to the stock O2 connector. The 2 white wires are to power the heating element. There is no polarity to worry about here, it wires up like a light bulb, just find a good power source. I've heard people tap into the power for the wiper motor.

Why would you go with the 3 wire harness anyway? What advantage is there?

The 3 wire O2 sensor is a heated sensor. Do a search on heated O2's to see what people say about it's benefits since there have been many debates on them in the past. I believe that the 2 main benefits are the ability to safely (for the O2 sensor) run leaded fuel, and that you will get more accurate results sooner since the O2 needs to be heated up before it begins to work properly.
