Wired new ecu in car, need to make speedo and water temp gauge to work.
I just riped out my factory ecu wiring that went to the power fc I had and it looks great and simple in there now. The car works great but I dont have any harnesses pluged in the car from the tranny because the harnesses have nowhere to go. I would imagine my speedo wire(s) is in there that needs to got to the dash. I also need my reverse lights. I would say everybody that put in any type of stand-alone ecu would have when through this. I do have some harnesses in the passenger kick panel that are not hooked up that probably have something to do with it. If I only had the factory service manuel. I also have no water temp reading. Does that wire come in from the passenger firewall as well. I thought it would have came in on the drivers side like the oil pressure. Oh yeah, also my abs light is on, but that may not have anything to do with it. Any wire color info or DIY sites would be great on any of the issues. I tried searching of course and didn't find squat. I probably won't get sqaut for answers either but its worth a shot

never mind the speedometer question, I found a hiding harness that the tranny harness pluged into that made it work along with the reverse lights. Water temp still not working though. That buzzing is the worst!!!!

you are in luck . i just did those things so its still fresh in my mind. i was fortunated enough to have other rx7 members provide me with some info so here i am passing it on to you.
the buzzing noise: it is the coolant lever warning. you can fix it by keep add water/coolant to the filler neck until its full or disconnect it all togother. i choosed to disconnect mine. a if you choose the two method, you need to cut the 1L pin of the 20-pin connector in ecu#2. i dont think you have the color code schematic to tell what color is 1L so ask if you need it...
the tach: you need to tap a ignition out from the leading ignitor connector and tap that to the 3F connector of the instrument cluster. the ign. out of the ignitor harness is yellow/blue and the 3F of the cluster is also yellow/blue. just connect the two by tapping them. don't disconnect or cut them. the connector in the cluster is a 12-pin and i think its the white one that has the yellow/blue wire.
the water temp: i would get an aftermarket one. they are more accurate and perform alot better.
i hope the info help....
