Does anything happen, or is it a 10 minute video of a guy revving up his engine?

I got bored after about a minute.

wow... he claims the car was "warm" but unless hes got seal failure, i dont think it would blow that much smoke while warm. even in that cold weather.

yeah, this guy is an idiot. if i am correct rx7's already has a self rev system built in, that makes it idol around 3k rpms to warm up the motor when its cold. i have witnessed this with my own. i always tap the gas to bring down the rpms though, it doesnt seem that its good for the car to let it idol so high that soon.

Start the car in 1st gear, that will eliminate the car to rev to anything higher that its supposed to.

Especially in winter months, i highly recommend doing this.

I have been starting my car in 1st gear since the night i took it home.

Bad for what?

You only starting it in gear to disable the AWS.

Would you rather have the car shoot to 3000rpm upon startup in say, 20 degree weather on a cold engine?

You can also start it in neutral and then blip the throttle when the AWS kicks up the idle speed. That disables it too.

I prefer 1st, doesnt seem to go as high all the time, and drops a lot quicker than blipping the gas even more.
