Not an FD guy at all. I bought mine for the looks and because I may turn it into a track car soon. I am more of a DSM guy. That's all I know. I will be getting me a 1G AWD and that will be my keeper for life. Don't get me wrong, I think this cars will be history like 50 years from now.

I'm keeping mine forever. Although like others have said, I would like to have another one. Currently its not very streetable so when I buy my next FD I would keep all the creature comforts and drive it alot more. These cars are more than just cars, they are apart of my soul and mine has been with me through fun times and rough times. She'll be with me till the end!

Seriously though, I bought my FD to enjoy, modify, and keep as close to showroom condition as possible. All this, yes, until the day I die. I could never get rid of her. The FD takes my breath away every time I look at one, it never fails. It is truly one of the new classics.

Hell yeah, I'm gonna keep it as long there is no essential decay on my personal situation! More than that but kinda got addicted and bought a R1 wreck to rebuild it...and THIS, my friend, is SPENDY down here in Switzerland

The FD is an amazing car. My friend darril always tells me that owning an FD is like dating a supermodel with a crack addiction.

Its hard for me after buying my RX-8 to justify the existance of my 7. Its REALLY difficult. I love the FD, its the most amazing car of its day and still pretty fantastic today. Sometimes I get in my 7 and hit the gas and its SOOOOO FAST.. I love that about the 7. I also love the feeling when I downshift and hit the gas around a corner and the turbo kicks in. But then Im on the road and its bumpy. Every part of the car is shaking, the plastic is breaking everywhere. The rattles, squeeks, clunks and interior noise is hard to take.

So there you have it. I dont know.

Having just bought mine I would like to say that yes, I will keep it forever. If the car is paid off and from a tuning perspective it is at a point where it is reliable, why not keep it for nice sundays?

As for me personally, I planned to keep it forever when I bought it - and I have developed my tuning plan in accordance with that goal. That is - to keep it totally stock except for the basic reliability mods, some gauges , and the stereo (although the 99 spec bumper, turn lamps, tail lights, and spoiler are MIGHTY tempting) Maybe some different rims - but keep the stockers of course.

This thread poses an interesting question: Given the limited numbers of 7's brougth into the States, will it ever attain be considered a "classic"?

Pretty much my plan too for my current ride. Occasional drive only and keep it as stock as I can. Would like to get another that I can do more stuff to and experiment with, track it, etc..

given the fact that the first generation rx 7 is a classic.And i got this from a book wirh classic cars in it.And sure ever it was in there.So Im pretty sure it will definatly attain classic status.

After getting back from the car show, I realized there wasn't anything *that* much more appealing to me. Certainly not for their prices.

A Ferrari, or maybe a Panoz, that new Porsche GT... OK, sure, when I get $20mil in the bank and I can take a f**k-off day from work to drive to the dealer for the bi-monthly/1000mi tuneup. Or I just might trade it for a hot wife if that's somehow possible. Otherwise I'm not getting rid of it anytime soon.

at least i hav sumbody thinkin bout sellin it. i gues u jokin right wat's the percentage of FD owner on the board. i have really come close to the number of total FD on the market. man countin finger on my hand is not easy now.. close to 500 FD on the market now <thru searchin internet source

I also plan to keep mine for good. Unless something unpredictable happens and I would need to sell it. Problem here is that there are only 2 in the country and we cannot import FDs anymore because of emissions. So I'm forced to keep it

I plan on keeping my FD for as long as I can. But there can be something that comes up down the road that will make me have to part ways with it. I just hope nothing like that ever happens.
