Will it be safe to use the Greddy boost/speed controllers???

My current mods are:

profec B
bov
intake
downpipe
midpipe
catback

I keep hitting boost spikes on a cold day which causes boost/fuel cut from my stock ecu, even though I set my profec B to the most min setting I could (8psi was the end result).

I saw this product in www.greddy.com, under the electronic section.

Just get a used Pettit ecu or Apexi PFC. It's a wonder you haven't blown your motor....

link doesn't work. But... I dont think that would solve your problem. Porting the wastegate or putting a highflow cat on(instead of midpipe) would be your best bets. If your getting boost creep, there is nothing the computer can do about that, hands down. You have to resort to a mechanical, not electronic, option.

Thanks for your help guys...

I'll look into getting the Pettit ecu which I'm assumming will compensate for air/fuel ratio as I get boost creeps. A buddy of mine just installed a PFC, and he's unable to run AC??? which he said is somewhat common with other FD owners. Since I drive the car daily, I want to be able to sit in comfort on a hot day.

I think the motor hasn't blown because the stock ecu prevented the boost/fuel cut from surpassing 10psi (correct me if I'm wrong), therefore I might stay away from the fuel cut defenser just in case.

I would have purchased a high flow cat, but the sound that is produced when the second turbo kicks in is well, Whoa! It's just not fun to drive without the rocket tone, just a personal preference. But I believe your're right it more of a mechanical issue than electrical.
