I would think that Porsche had more than one caliper desighn for all there cars since the beginning of ther inception.

In other ward what Porsche did these come from, how many pistons, were they on the front or back, what size was the rotor taht this calipers were on.

We will need alot more info before we could answer this question. A picture of the caliper would help also.

I have Porsche 993 Brembo front calipers and rotors on my FD. Had to custom make the bracket and use 17in rims..

I agree with the above.^^^

It would be the cheapest way to a "big brake" kit. There would be a lot of hours involved but I think the end result would be pretty cool.

riiight...cheaper is always cooler. especially with different calipers and the stock master cylinder, this is a great IDEA, can't believe more people haven't done this!!!!

Different calipers aren't going to do crap for making the brakes "better" because unless you're going to fit larger rotors as well there is no sense in even bothering. The stock FD calipers are excellent.

Yep. And larger rotors aren't really necessary unless you track the car regularly. It's amazing how many people don't understand that the easiest (and first) way to improve your braking capability is by getting some decent tires.

Tires & pad compound will make a differance in how your car stops.

My setup is a true 993 turbo big brake setup. 13.5 rotors with 6 piston porsche brembo calipers, ss brake lines etc.. I'll see if I can find some pics of how they look on my FD..

if you put 6 pot calipers on your car, get a much larger master cylinder because you'll need more fluid to make those big *** things work well and keep good pedal feel, a short pedal travel, and ability to modulate the brakes.

I agree with DamonB,

I have always thought FD brakes were awesome.. Wasn't there a thread about big brake kit vs. stock brakes?? I thought OEM performed better than the brembo big brake kit.. This was 2-3 years back... I think??
