Will my engine die?
OK
Simple question, I have
Series 8
Stock twins
Apex power intake pods
PWR FMIC
PWR Rad
CATBACK exhaust
From my understanding this is the limit of modifications without upgrading the ECU.
Is this correct? Will my engine survive or do I NEED to get an ECU + Tune...
I know I SHOULD, but do I NEED to is my question.
Thanks.

As poster number felix said, check out you boost - I probably wouldn't go as high as 13 PSI myself... keep it stock to be on the safe side....

Thanks for the replys
I havnt touched the boost and I dont intend on winding it up at all...but is there a risk it will creep above the 10/11psi itself?

I will be getting a PFC one day, but for now I wouldnt mind a budget option in between. Money is temporarily tight due to upcomming wedding. As much as I love my FD, ya always need a woman as well.

Directly from Petit *new* (http://www.pettitracing.com/rx7/index_management.htm) but you can sometimes find someone selling a used one for around $300 or you might want to post a looking for thread.
Although I'm wondering do the Series 8 FD's have the same wiring harness connectors as the Series 6?

Then I suggest he buy a PowerFC for his series 8. I found this on ebay and even happens to be in Australia, although you might be able to find one cheaper...

Thanks for all your replies guys.
Looks like I'll have to save the pennies and get a PFC and tune.
In the mean time, I'll just have to take it a lil easy huh? not past 5grand I guess on the revs......*sigh*

FYI, most of the people on this forum are familiar with the 8-bit ECU found in the USDM 93-95 RX-7's (I believe Australians would refer to this as the Series 6).
51CAZ, your stock 16-bit ECU might or might not be able to handle those additional airflow mods. Your best option is probably to find someone local to you who has more experience modding S8 RX-7's and ask for their opinion. If I were you I'd try to get in touch with someone local who has experience dyno tuning RX-7's.
