I ran for several months with a DP, catback, hiflow cat, and the stock airbox with a K&N with no problems. Drove it hard too, but YMMV. Everyone here told me I was gonna pop so I got a PFC.

That really depends on what else you have done to the car. If you don't have anything else, you are o.k.
General rule is if you do more than 3 modes directly related to the intake and exhaust then you will need a re-pro or programmable ecu.
