WRONG. Unsprung clutches are very hard on the flywheel. There is zero reason to install one on a street-driven car. Even if you are running over 400 rwhp, a SPRUNG puck clutch can still be used.

On the street....YES! There is no slipping whatsover, it's pretty much binary engagment.

Shouldn't you have asked these questions BEFORE you even bought the clutch, let alone installed yet? What kind of power are you making?

man...i would not have gotten an Unspring. I had a 6 puck that was spring for my 300zx, the engagement was very quick but i could manage. I couldnt imagine an unspring clutch.

If you plan on drag racing, chances are you will snap axles if you launch hard with that clutch.

As for the street, you will put more wear and tear on the driveline components, especially rear end bushings.

He is afraid of shattering his diff again. I think a unsprung 6 puck is easy on the street (but that is what I learn to drive on) :hehe:

I've got a 6 puck unsprung in my car. The clutch engages like an on/off switch. it takes a bit of getting used to. So far my flywheel is fine. I just had the motor rebuilt with that clutch on it for 2 years and the flywheel is fine. But man the shifts are REALLY nice on it. But I think next time I'm going to get a sprung clutch for easier engage, I still stall out every once in awhile.
