Well I have the Apexi FMIC which is made for the stock elbow and I have the Greddy elbow. My problem now is I need to drive it to get the pipe made but I can't drive it without the pipe. I tried but there was no power. After I let the clutch out it wants to die and only goes a few feet.
Other problems are: Idle hunting - new PFC and just cut wire harness wires. I thought it learned the idle previously but I ran out of gas, so I guess it didn't keep the settings.
Had a peice of something stuck in idle control valve but I removed. I'm not sure if it was damaged or not.
COnnectors not pluged in - oil pan, aws, double throttle, maybe more in the bay and possibly some next to the ecu.

^ So you think my car will fit in the trunk of the cab, so the shop can measure and bend the pipe correctly and do the beads to hold the couplers. Hmmm, let me ask Jimmy Neutron to shrink my car so it will fit in my pocket and then we'll take his hovercraft.
How far are you driving it? I dont see why your short piping would cause problems, just filter the air coming into the intake elbow/intercooler (whatever you leave open).
There shouldnt be a loss of power because the open intake because at low rpms your not getting boost anyway, so its got something do with your ecu/connectors- I wouldnt suggest driving with those umpluged.

The only issue with gently driving the car to a shop is the non-filtered air the engine will intake.
If you tried to drive it hard the turbos would overspin since they are pumping air into the atmosphere. If you just gently drove it down the road you won't have any problems.
I know a guy that drove a FD with the elbow disconnected 9 hrs on the Interstate since the turbos were pumping so much oil the plugs would foul in minutes. I got a cal the next day "9hrs and 8 quarts of oil later I made it home". He put new turbos on the car and all was fine.

So, ya think I should waste one of my tows to fab the pipe and if it still doesn't drive then waste another one and when the car is actually running then pay full price for towinq or see if there's a reasonable alternative. My thread needs spamblocker!
