Car looks great Damian! Will you be taking any passengers at the fbody event at ra? If so pencil me in for a ride
Nuh uh, I'm about to ask him again, but this time more specific.

Well, same as i did before, just with a few minor changes :-)
Im just being a smart azz, that is really a loaded question, I could write and entire thread just on 'the setup'....so can you be more specific?
Sorry I wasn't specific as I should have been. I just remembered that your car is running a single, and you were interested in upgrading. I was just wondering if you have changed your MOTOR setup at all. Still a ASP large? All that stuff.

He's slackin, so I'll answer. This year it was deemed to be too much time/money and effort. Lots of work stuff going on for him.

Anyway, for the same cash we can run 3-4 weekends worth of full events. Definitely want to do it again in the future though, since we have the experience to compete better and have a better time doing it.

Why does that answer sound all too familiar?
Too much money, not enough time, too busy at home, but want to do it again in the future...

well, I Dunno, no idea,...and who knows....I have not tracked the car yet :-)
First event it my MAM event on April 7th and 8th....I'll have details after that.
what I can tell you is that I doubt I will get any understeer as my car had CRAZY turn in grip. So this extra rear tire should help me keep the rear in check at mid corner and on corner exit, where before I had to baby it on exit...but my car never pushes...u can go in all out of control and hot....and it will turn in ...wel, unless you lock em up ...then its 'hello mr.sand trap'
Simply awesome! It looks much more aggressive than the stock car, but it still looks like a Mazda. I'm looking forward to hearing what your impression is of the handling balance.

+1, Always loved the car and the wheels. You have one of the nicest track FD's. I'm sure you answered this, but I missed it:

How wide are the rear tires? 300 something? Just wondering. I can't wait to put my Kinesis wheels on as well.

I meet you guys and saw the car at MAM. Yeah, very very nice cars Damian and Gooroo. Very nice.

Damian's car is just plain nasty, and I love the millions of video cameras setup in the car. I think for every 1 minute of track time you must take about 10 minutes to watch all that video.

Ans Gooroo, his car is a wolf in sheeps clothes. Almost as fast as Damian and looks pretty simple on the outside. GTC bumper and wing but really fast.

Thanks again for the ride Gooroo and as soon as I get my car put back together I will be on findtheline and at the next MAM event hopefully!

Im not sure if you've answered this already, but have you tracked the car since going wider? How did it change handling? What offset did you use on the rear wheels?

Im in the process of building a track rx7 with just rear pettit flares. Aiming for the same tire setup in the back as you but probably a little smaller in front, depending on what I can cram into the stock fender without bottoming out. Although mine will be V8 powered Im curious if the staggered wheel setup has a drastic effect on handling and have yet to talk to a single rx7 owner with widebody rear end that tracks their car.

I was 2 seconds faster than my previous fastest qualifying time at MAM. Now its hard to say if that was all from added rear grip as I also moved to a 500R turbo and that may have helped as well, I was not running more power or boost, just had a bit more usable power.

(yes, i will make another thread on the 500r later ..hehehe)
