Holy smokes. Just when I thought your car couldnt get more badass, you add 335's in the rear. Haha, good work. Your car has always been one of my favorites. Have a good track season this summer.

Thumbs up

Looks really nice. Hopefully my track car will look half as nice.

Just curious, Is your rear spoiler mounted to the hatch or does it go through the hatch and mount to the body? I think I read on 7parts website, that they recommend for there fiberglass hatch, that the spoiler be mounted to the body not the hatch it self. Now when I am saying body I don't mean the rear fenders, I am talking about the body under neath the spoiler.

Keep up the good work and you might get some competition next year.

DOH!! I was thinking of Pettit Rear with Burnout fronts...
It's getting so hard to try and add a little uniqueness to an FD nowadays...everything has been done.

18x12.5 @ 335 FTW!

Awesome work. What rear wing did you change it to?
Yeah, I have taken it further down the path :-) ..but Fabian gave me a great setup to start with...but now its another beast all together :-)

I switched to the RE GT2 wing as it has a bigger foil, I wanted to balance the aero work I was doing in the front with my undertray/splitter (not on in the pics above).

This is what the car looked like before I got my hands on it:

I am intrested on how the car feels with the diffrent size rear tire now. Do you get much understeer with the new setup? Or does it enable you to push your way around any corner? Whats the track time diffrence with the wheels?

thanks vellj001, if i had more time id try to push to get it more press, but I am to busy in the garage setting the car up :-) its looks good, but make no mistake, its a GO car, not a show car :-)

>>Wow. Massive amounts of badassness there. very badass

could not have said it better myself !!

>> WOW!!! Keeps getting better and better! Can't wait for more vids.

I have some old footage I setill need to edit and upload, but I am taking new footage at our MAM event and will post that after some editing. It should be a good show :-)

>>dear lord, that thing is B-E-A-UTIFUL! Are you going to be driving at Road America anytime soon?

Yes, I will be at RoadAmerica April 14-15 with the fbody club. It will be testing/tuning for me and I have 2 NASA races at RoadAmerica too, August 4-5th and October 20-21st. I will be running the NASA midwest racing and time trials season again.

>>we are going to need an *** shot

I'll work on that :-)

>>What size are you going to run on the rear now?

JIC FLT-A2 adjustable Coilovers

I have not mounted it to the body yet, but I need to mount it to the body. However, I did do some reinforcment to the hatch to make it pretty stable. I put aluminum plates in between the hatch outside layer and inside layer. Eventually I will have brackets welded to the car body that lead to the wing brackets :-)

>>Keep up the good work and you might get some competition next year.

Bring it biiaatch!!! :-)

>>Thats a whole lotta rubber you'll be running with those flares. Looks awesome.

Yep :-) that was one of the few weak spots on the car, rear grip...but this will help ;-)

>>Are you running Time Trials or Performance Touring with NASA this year?

both :-)

>>Why no gas door?

It got blow into pieces durign a tragic garage accident :-0 (hehehe)

>>I am intrested on how the car feels with the diffrent size rear tire now. Do you get much understeer with the new setup? Or does it enable you to push your way around any corner? Whats the track time diffrence with the wheels?

well, I Dunno, no idea,...and who knows....I have not tracked the car yet :-)
First event it my MAM event on April 7th and 8th....I'll have details after that.
what I can tell you is that I doubt I will get any understeer as my car had CRAZY turn in grip. So this extra rear tire should help me keep the rear in check at mid corner and on corner exit, where before I had to baby it on exit...but my car never pushes...u can go in all out of control and hot....and it will turn in ...wel, unless you lock em up ...then its 'hello mr.sand trap'

I have a 500R setup that will be ready to go soon. I do not plan to run any 'more' power, but do plan on having more 'usable' power.

People see the car and right away have the misconception that is it a power monster, it really is not, I typically run in the 350 to 380 rwhp range at around 12 to 14 psi. Adding more rear grip was about cornering balance more than about trying to run more power. I have my own thoughts about what boost/power you can 'reliably' run out of a 2 rotor when ur on a budget, so I work on getting faster lap times from trying to maximize handling, grip, aero, et, et....all limited by time and money obviously.

...the slowest part of the car is the driver :-)
