Wideband sensor location

Hi guys, just wondering where abouts most of you are mounting your wideband sensors in your exhaust.

I have a 3.5inch smb dump which I'll fit soon, and want to decide if I should weld the bung for the wideband sensor on there while the dump is still off the car.

Or will there be enough room to do that while it is bolted on the car?

Or is space going to be that tight that I'll need to bolt the dump on and see where the sensor will fit and then unbolt it again to weld on the bung?

Thanks,
Mike

Please search

Mike,

Not trying to be rude, but there are multiple threads on this. You just have to search and read...Where ever you decide to put the bung, do it before you reinstall on the car. Makes it much easier.

What wideband do you have? My old aem uego and my current innovate both use the Bosch sensor and those are supposed to be about 36" down stream so mine is in the midpipe before my resonator.

1m/3ft from turbo exit and in the top 180 degrees of the pipe, i.e. somewhere between the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions.

Or you could do it like I did. Marked the spot with the DP on. Took it to the shop to weld on the bung and in my mind I thought, "a couple of inches further back would be ideal." Welded bung, re-installed DP, went to screw in the sensor and yeah, you guessed it, 2 inches too far to the rear. No go on the sensor. Ended up drilling a hole in the original spot and installed a weldless bung. Screwed in the senor and blocked off the original bung. Man, am I dumb.
