Exclamation Why only 6.5 psi? Stock seq. twins...

Ok, I just got my engine swap finished up (blown for not blown), and it runs very good. Extremely smooth, no hesitation, good (I guess?, first fd) power, starts right up in the freezing morning and pulls a steady 20in of vacuum.

However, I only get 6.5psig. It builds boost really fast, and pushes a smooth 6.5 all the way to redline, every time. It does seem to have alot more low/mid-range than top-end.

For background its all stock except HKS hipower catback and apexi power intakes. When I did the swap I replaced ALL the vacuum lines with silicone, and all random plastic/rubber pieces that were baked hard with new mazda replacements. I did not (but should have while it was easy) test anything (ie solinoids, check valves, actuators, etc.)

Has anyone seen this before? Where should I start looking to fix it? I really don't want to take it back apart (too far) because it runs good and gets me to work every day...

Thanks in advance for the help,
-Shane

^That would be my guess. Did you replaced the hoses running from the primary turbo outlet nipples, to the wastegate and pre-control actuators? If the turbos are S6 then there were restrictor pills in those lines. You can either get some pills or install a boost controller.

Hmm, I did replace those lines. Can I use a single mbc on the wastegate actuator to control boost or do I need one on the pre-control also?

10-8-10 is the factory pattern right?

Thanks for the help,
Shane

WOW! What an amazing difference!

Luckily one of my extra sets of turbos had the line with pills still, put the pills in the silicone line and holy crap! Much better pulls like a freight train all the way to redline, 10-11psi and dips to 8-9psi at 4500.

Thanks for the help,
-Shane
