why does my car smoke so much when i floor it?

whenever i put the pedal down my car seems to blow a lot of smoke, i can especially tell at night since the headlights behind me relly let you see teh smoke well, so i was jsut wondering if this was normal or if my engine is going south. it also smokes for about 2 seconds literally when i start it in the mornings is this normal? i have intake, dp, highflow cat, and catback as my mods, any information will be greatly apreciated, thanks, scott

I know what ur talking about. It is perfectly normal if its not blue smoke. If its black, dont worry about it. All turbo cars pretty much do that. In the morning, its normal to see white smoke coming out the exhaust for a few minutes until it disappears. A lot of fd's do that

I freaked out the first time I started my car in the morning after I got my exhaust because of the white smoke too. My friend told me that it is just water that gathered in the muffler for whatever reason and the exhaust fumes heated it up and just steamed it out. DOn't worry too much about it. If its any color other than white you should probably look into it.

- I had this problem with my FD and I could easily fill up two blocks with white smoke. My car looked like the video game Spy Hunter when you use the smoke screen. The problem was easily fixed and didn't cost much. The first thing you should look into is your PCV Valve. All you have to do is remove it and make sure that when you suck on one side that it stops the flow of air. If that piece is broken, just replace it with a new one. It will only take you 2 minutes and it cost $15.

- Another thing you should do is a compression test it might be your engine. It can also be from your turbos.

- Also, there is a black hose that attaches from the oil filler neck that might have been installed wrong. The hose looks like an "S" shape and it's about 7-10 inches long. Make sure that this hose is installed properly and if it's not, get yourself a new one. If the hose is installed wrong it will close the passage way and cause your FD to give out white smoke from your exhaust.
