Why does this happen?

I attempted a search but it got the best of me. This does not happen ALL the time, usually only after driving it, shutting it off, and then starting it back up.

Just so you know the mods: Cosmo fuel pump, PFC(not sure what map and I don't believe it was used for idle relearn), 1200cc inj, streetport motor(less than 2k miles). Running very rich(doesn't show up on my A/F guage which ranges from 11 to 16.).

The motore has upper and lower manifolds blocked off. No ISC, DT, EGR, o2 hose, etc...

The car runs great, and this is a question on startup. The car will crank, but it seems to want to flood itself on startup and will stumble for a few seconds. At idle(700-800rpms) its pulling 46 cmHg(18.11 inHg) of vacuum and as I mentioned before its a brand new streetported rebuild. The car isn't tuned yet, and so I was curious if this stumbling at start up could be caused by being too rich.

I do not have a commander yet, so I can't give too much for information. And I'm only running 7psi of boost(profec spec2 is turned off for now and on acuator spring).

Question: Is the stumbling due to the rich condition? Are my plugs fouled? Would a tune(which is in the near future) fix this?

Thanks in advance, just trying to make sure it'll get fixed.

Pull your plugs and check them. It might be that. Or else I would say its your tune. Might be a vac. line too. Those are the three things I would suspect. Have you tried pulling the codes on the ecu?

I'd think that the plugs are probably shot if you're actually running that rich. You're probably better off just leaving those plugs in there until you're going to have it tuned so you don't ruin another set.

That was my plan, I'm not getting it tuned until I get a large SMIC and a midpipe, which along with new plugs will all go in on the day of the tune, and get it all done at once.

I didn't try to pull codes. The car is boosting fine, so I would expect to see a problem with boost if it was a vacuum line?
