why am i still running so hot!!!
okay, the weather here is in the hundreds but when i'm driving on the freeway 70-80 the temp gauge starts climbing a bit higher and higher, i understand that it's hot but i would imagine the vented hood and dp could carry enough heat away especially with that much air flowing through. I use very little water in my coolant mix so i don't understand why it's getting so hot when i'm not even in the gas. that and i'm tired of cycling the heater on and off when i'm burning up as it is.

Do you have the plastic belly pan on the car? That helps a lot with highway speeds. With high air pressure at the front of the car, air will want to go around the radiator instead of through - path of least resistance.

My car used to the same thing on hot *** days. I got up to 106C driving 75-80 mph to sevenstock a few years ago. I changed the coolant when I got back and used some Water Wetter and it helped quite a bit.

Maybe that's why? Try running a 60/40 water/coolant.

my underpanel is on, and i'd say my coolant:water ratio is around 85:20. That coupled with all the air flowing out of the hood and the heat being carried away by the dp just leaves me baffled. both my caps are new, no leaks in the system, engine is fairly new. i'm tempted to just dremel those plastic pieces on the side of the inlet on the front bumper

100+ degree weather cruising at 80mph will yield constant 210f or 98c for me. what is the condition of your waterpump and thermostat? creating ducts around the radiator with foam helps a little too.

i'll try changing the coolant out in the morning then, as far as the stat and pump i'm not sure, i see no reason why they shouldn't work properly but that would make sense

Here in TX we're getting 100F plus temp, and my highest temps without the AC is 92C (but normally 86-88C in 95-105F degree weather. Before I changed out my thermostat is was over 210F. Although with the AC on is climbs well over 220 but I turn the AC off before that point.
Id say change the thermostat with an OEM one.

Sorry to tell you, but that is perfectly normal temperature for 100 degree weather and a highway cruise speed. I live in Las Vegas, and I see the same temps. As soon as I exit the freeway, the temps fall from the 99-100c range to the 91-93c range almost instantly.

...If you had and idea of what your initial mixture ratio was, then you could have estimated how much to drain then topped it off with water...
