They ought to be shot for purposly turning down their boost and running someone at 6 psi.

 

Yeah that vid made me sick to my stomach. I think I need to go out and kick the crap out of some more hondas.

 

Hmmm, that RX-7 wasn't that loud for supposedly having a full exhaust...

It would be interesting to know exactly what mods were on that RX-7. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

 

Very true and arguing with someone about what car had which mods just isn't worth it at all. I just had a couple questions at first.

 

Low setting was 6psi??? That's a load of crap seeing as 7psi is the least you can acheive (hence when you forget to put boost pills in). The RX guy either has some screwed up turbos, huge boost leak, or is helping this guy boost the image of his prelude... Regardless, it's truely a shame.

lol...but even when the RX-7 turned the boost up to 13 PSI, the race what dead even with the Prelude having the advantage in the begining.

just goes to show that stoplight racing only proves how much traction you can get.

 

non-sequential cars could turn the boost down lower than ones running sequntial...

Damn the first RX-7 lost but the last one won yea!!

 

Please tell me how to get less than 7psi as I have my boost turned all the way down on my "slow" setting (rain driving, cruising, spark interest in hondas...). I am currently running non-sequential as well...

If you notice the Honda was at 6-lbs also. Most likey it was done to try to even the playing field, so to speak. Jackson Racing only recomends 5lbs I beleive, without an intercooler. They suck Donkey *******, they F'd up my rims on my CRX and wouldn't pay for it.

It looked like he missed 3rd gear, since he was in the lead but what are you doing on a Supra forum?

I simply asked why the guy was running 6 psi the first time. WTF was wrong with that? As I said if it was to make it a level playing field then that would be like me asking a bpu supra to turn it down to 6 psi to make it even(If I was running 6 psi). Why would anyone do that? One of the supra guys also said having the rx7 guy turn down his boost to 6psi is like having his supra race you at 11 psi. I'm not the only one who didn't understand the 6psi thing. It's just not even a real kill. And definately nothing to brag about.

But they explained that the guy hit the lower psi switch by accident. What kind of a jackass goes to race someone, goes to turn up the boost and says "Whoop I accidentally put it on 6 psi" WTF? Someone not know how to work their car? That's cool for whatever reason I just wanted to know who was the person racing people at 6 psi. Doesn't seem the brightest thing to do to me. Oh well I guess it was still a race(as I said in the thread) I just didn't see the need to post it as a kill if it was at 6 psi.

Do I need someone to explain to me that FWD cars don't get good traction with high hp as one member did? No. Anyone knows that FWD's don't.

Who me? I was on there just to hang out in the NE section and I am getting rid of my car so I am thinking about what to replace it with? Not neccasarily a Supra, but I have a couple things in mind. Might even be another FD(CYM prob if one at all) who knows. But that won't be for a couple months yet.

shouldnt a s/c have more torque on the launch to get a jump anyways.....and on a roll..getting whooped up??either the rx7 was toying with him....or............

 

I raced a Vtec Prelude when I was only boosting like 8psi on the 2nd turbo.

I thought he was going to win before I raced him. I guess I proved myself wrong

When a prelude claims he can bet me in the 1/4, I'll tell him to do a top end race with me to. I'd like to see him hit past 150mph...........

I work in Plano, Texas and have seen that car before. Not sure who owns it, but getting beat by a Prelude is bad enough, but having it on video is almost like your friends catching you riding a moped, or ******** a fat chick. He'll never live it down!
