What happened? Did the stock ast decided to blow off or did it overheat and the pressure blew off the radiator cap or...?

that happened to me at a track event, but nothing blew-up, I mistakenly filled the overflow when the car was cold (coolant contracted) and so when it heated up (expanded coolant) it had nowhere to go but out of the overflow valve..... left a pool just like the pic (although the pic seems like a blow-up of some kind)

i just went to evans coolant the system is no longer pressurized so nothing can 'blow-up' anymore...but i guess if somthing 'falls' apart (heheheh)

Man, that happened to me last week when the stocker radiator failed. Luckily the car had just been idling so I turned off the car and nothing overheated. Now I have a PWR alluminium (sp) radiator. Major difference in cooling BTW. I can now lift the hood without the use of gloves.

At least it wasn't your fault. I was doing a coolant flush and I forgot to reconnect the TB coolant hose when I started the engine. At least I was smart enough to realize what the peeing sound was.

Something like that happened to me on the drag strip. I threw the belt that runs the water pump and right by the end my temp gauge started rising so I got off the gas and started slowing down. It was too late though, next thing I knew coolant goes everywhere. Turns out my radiator cracked under the added pressure and it went EVERYWHERE. I got a new radiator and she runs fine. I had a coolant puddle or two, but it was just a loose hose on the new rad. I haven't seen a puddle since, or had to add coolant either.

Lol, that happened to me too when I was filling my system with coolant. I had forgotten to put the TB coolant hose back on, and as I started the car, a while after the buzzer went off. I then remembered that I forgot to attach it. What a mess. After filling up a bit more, the problem was solved.

payed about 1800$ for a complete engine with a doubleplated clutch kit...! The freight was about the same price as the engine... not bad...
